GHS is located in the northeast region of Tarrant County.

Tradition
GHS was established in the late nineteenth century by a group of settlers on the Grapevine prairie. The school had its first graduating class in 1907. In the year 2007, Grapevine celebrated its 100th year centennial as a Texas public high school. The school mascot is the mustang. School colors are red, white and royal blue. Grapevine school pep rallies have been known to be the most spirited pep rallies in the area.
GHS has one of the most active high school alumni associations in the United States. Annually, the Ex-Students Association awards college scholarships, inducts deserving former students and teachers into the Hall of Fame, runs the annual Homecoming Parade on Main Street through historic downtown Grapevine, and sponsors the Alumni Homecoming dinner.

Grapevine High School principal, Dr. Jerry Hollingsworth, leads the school into their second century of Mustang excellence. Dr. Hollingsworth came to GHS in 2005 after serving as principal of Stephenville High School, Stephenville ISD (2004–2005), Principal of Dawson Middle School, Carroll ISD (2002–2004), Assistant Principal, Carroll ISD (1997–2002), and classroom teacher, Bedford Jr. High and L.D. Alma mater
On the threshold of tomorrow we'll forget in joy our sorrow
When we think of dear old GHS
We'll remember words of cheer that to many were so dear
Do we love her? Do we love her? Yes!
Grapevine dear Grapevine we know that you'll shine
When on you we so depend
Grapevine dear Grapevine for you our hearts pine
We're for you 'til the end.
RAH, RAH, RAH, MUSTANGS FIGHT!
Fight Song -
Put on your old white sweater with the big red letter
It's a Grapevine victory tonight
O'er the fields we'll plunder as we plow them under
It's a Grapevine victory night!
