Yogi's Treasure Hunt is a segment that kicked-off in 1985 as the first of the programming block, The Funtastic World of Hanna-Barbera and featured guest and cameo appearances by various Hanna-Barbera characters from other shows aside from the main cast. It ran on syndication from 1985 to 1988.

Plot

Yogi Bear, Boo Boo, Ranger Smith, Huckleberry Hound, Snagglepuss, Quick Draw McGraw, Augie Doggie and Doggie Daddy and Snooper and Blabber, would go on treasure hunts around the world, as assigned by Top Cat. They traveled aboard a ship called the SS Jelly Roger, which was like the ark on Yogi's Gang. Dick Dastardly and Muttley and their ship the SS Dirty Tricks would try to beat them to the treasure by using their usual dirty tricks.

Trivia

  • Dastardly and Muttley's car, The Mean Machine, was not featured on the show, but they appeared in a sub called The SS Dirty Tricks, and in a WWI biplane.
  • While working on Yogi's Treasure Hunt, recording director Gordon Hunt was looking over a storyboard and what seemed to be a new character caught his eye. He asked writers Mark Evanier and Earl Kress, who this "new character" was. They both told him it was Yogi's best friend Boo-Boo and was not a new character.
