Neil Chalmers

Sir Neil Chalmers, formerly Director of the Natural History Museum in London, is Warden of Wadham College, Oxford.

Neil Chalmers was educated at King's College School, Magdalen College, Oxford, and St John's College, Cambridge.

Early in his career, Chalmers lectured in biology at the University of East Africa in Uganda.[1] From 1970 until 1988 he worked for the Open University. He became Director of the Natural History Museum in 1988 and Warden of Wadham College, Oxford in 2004.[2] He will retire in July 2012[3]

He was appointed Knight Bachelor by HM The Queen in 2001.[citation needed]
