Season 9

during the biggest loser season 8 finale, they showed a promo for season 9 which revealed some of the contestants, their teams, and in 2 instances, their starting weights. thest starting weights are the heaviest in the show's history, and even break the world record for heaviest contestants: Pink Team : Ashley & ? Orange Team: Cheryl & ? Brown? (I could not tell what color) Team: John (Starting Weight 484 LBS) And James (Starting Weight 485 Lbs) Can We Add This To The Official article, or be safe and wait for more info (i got this from the promo that aired during the season 8 Finale)------JereMerr 07:05, 9 December 2009 (UTC)--JereMerr 07:05, 9 December 2009 (UTC)

It would be great if we had some better sourcing. Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 16:29, 9 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Manipulation for impact?

Does anyone know if the producers peek at contestant weights ahead of time, perhaps in a pre-weigh-in where only they see the numbers, or their votes before entering the elimination room? They do a pretty uncanny job of ordering the proceedings for maximum suspense, though maybe shrewd guesses based on observation are sufficiently accurate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cryptognome (talkcontribs) 04:53, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You remind me that once I noticed a picture captured from Season 9, in which the total amount of the weight loss of the group was shown but the amount of each of them wasn't. First, taking the machine into consideration, I don't think it is necessary to waste that long time to show the result of weight loss just for an "accurate result". I reckon it's just producer's trick to prolong the agony. --Peterxj108 (talk) 14:12, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll have to find my source, but the weights are done ahead of time, though the contestants don't know the number, at "The Weigh-In" it isn't really a scale, as the weight has been determined ahead of time. But, at the weigh-in it is the first time the contestants see their weight. So, yes, it is arranged by the producers to produce dramatic effect. ---- 20:03, 25 December 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.74.171.238 (talk)

Location

It is not correct that the show is produced at Malibu Creek State Park. It is actually on King Gillette Ranch which is adjacent to Malibu Creek State Park. I live within a mile of it and have been to the ranch and seen the contestants there (on a Sunday when no production was happening). Dagurasum (talk) 07:00, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

So, what about prior seasons? Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 20:31, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I don't understand your question. The article states that "Recent seasons have been filmed at the Malibu Creek State Park." I am simply stating that that statement is incorrect. Dagurasum (talk) 05:16, 23 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am asking if you know about prior seasons. I am guessing from your response that you do not. Thanks! Plastikspork ―Œ(talk) 19:37, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

What you are referring to when you say "prior seasons" is not clear. If you are referring to seasons prior to those that I know were filmed at King Gillette Ranch, and NOT at Malibu Creek State Park as the article states, then your guess is correct. You're welcome. Dagurasum (talk) 21:05, 28 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It is clear from observation that some earlier seasons were filmed at the former Camarillo State Hospital, now CSUCI California State University, Channel Islands. -- 22:05, 25 December 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.74.171.238 (talk)

Addition to "Records" section

I'd like new rows in the "Records" section. M/F highest starting BMI. I believe this upcoming Season 11, Couples 4, will have a record Male "highest starting BMI." Michael may have the highest starting weight, but at 6'4" his weight is not as significant as contestants with higher starting BMIs. ----20:05, 25 December 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.74.171.238 (talk)

The record table is more complete, though it seem logical to break it into two tables, a male and female. The symmetry and smaller size would make it more readable —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.74.171.238 (talk) 06:23, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

#15 and #32?

Where did the statistics of ranks of Season 10 and 11 here come from? Sources should be presented here. I just checked it on Zap2it.com. Judging from today's TV ratings we can tell that TBL definitely won't rank that high in the end of this season. --Peterxj108 (talk) 07:33, 10 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Braggadocio!!!

Season 11 - Couples #32 26. 43

26.43 million viewers? Any evidence? Who'll believe it???--Peterxj108 (talk) 05:17, 25 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Too Many Records?

There are too many unnecessary records on the page. Falling Below the Line is not a record. The BMI record is not necessary nor is off campus weight (Arthur at 646 lbs.). Longest surviving couples also is not a necessary record. Please shorten the record table. It is too confusing to read.
