Hamari Devrani (Hindi: हमारी देवरानी) (English Translation- Our Young Sister-in-law) is an Indian soap opera that airs on STAR Plus. The series premiered on May 26, 2008. This is a story of the youngest daughter-in-law of the family played by Eva Ahuja.
Plot
Bhakti (Krishna Gokani) was abandoned by her father as her mother passed away after giving birth to her. Her grandmother took the child and instilled good values in her. She got married to Mohan (Madhav Deochake) and became a part of the Nanavati family - the most respected and wealthy family. Unknown to her, she was chosen as the bahu of this family because she is naive and it was a plot churned out by her jethanis (Manjula, Parul, Alpa, Jalpa and Rajeshwari) who want to keep her and Mohan in control so that they could get the money which is on Mohan's name. They got their sister-in-law married to Deepak (a fraud) hired by them (Jalpa and Rajeshwari aren't part of this though) before her marriage and their father-in-law died. So she was thrown out. When Mohan was slowly learning the truth, the jethanis framed him and he was asked to leave the house. But the truth of jethanis got revealed.
The jethanis were thrown out. But Mohan and Bhakti brought them back through their plan. Then enters Padmini with her daughter Shikha claiming to be Mohan's wife and daughter. Bhakti and the family accept them. But Manjula is suspicious of her and her suspicions are proved right. Padmini does black magic. Bhakti is pregnant and Padmini does back magic on her and kidnaps her. Padmini's truth is revealed but padmini pushes Bhakti and Bhakti falls hard on the ground due to which she had to undergo and premature delivery and she passes away after giving birth to her kid. Her kid is bron mentally unstable.
The show then moves forward with a leap of 17 years. Aastha (Bhakti's daughter, played by Vidhi Sindwad) is pampered by one and all in the family. Shikha is adopted by Alpa and she only loves her and Mohan. Mohan doesn't love Astha as she was the reason Bhakti died but slowly started loving her. Shikha is dating Shekhar who has a kundali dosh. His first wife will die so her marries Aastha and plans to kill her and later marry Shikha. their plan is unsuccessful. they are sent to jail.
Now Mohan gets married to Vrinda (Eva Ahuja). The jethanis are trying to frame her but Vrinda with her simplicity, honesty and support from Astha is managing everything. The current plot is that Mohan's brother wants him to accept vrinda and forget Bhakti. What will happen now? Will Mohan fall in love with Vrinda? Will the jethanis realize Vrinda's Bhakti for the family?
