Rollback (add request)

User:Lukep913

Hello, today I am requesting the rollback tool. I've been patrolling recent changes and understand what vandalism is and what is not vandalism. I think rollback would be useful in fighting vandalism, in addition to Twinkle, which I have been using. Thank you -- Luke Talk 22:33, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment) I went through some of your 'tribs, looks like you'll be fine. Posting warnings is lot easier with Twinkle :P Mlpearc powwow 22:59, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

(Non-administrator comment) You don't need rollback to access Huggle. You can see how to use Huggle here. -- Luke Talk 12:30, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
If nothing has changed recently, you do indeed need rollback if you want to use either Igloo or Huggle. That said,  Done. Salvio Let's talk about it! 14:26, 24 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have been a Rollbacker for many years On Wikipedia and has contributed reasonably in vandal fighting efforts. A year or two ago, I have been on a long Wikibreak for academics reason. I have recently returned, and yesterday I still found my Rollback rights intact. However, I noticed that my rollback rights were removed today. I believe I have not made any bad-faith edits not did I intentionally remove any good faith edits. Since I am now back to contribute to the wiki, I would like to request for my Rollback feature to be returned. Thank you. Mark Chung (talk) 08:26, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • I'm unsure if this is a blunder on my part, but it seems like my rollback feature is now restored. Can anyone please check for me? If this is truly a mistake on my part, I apologize for the trouble.
Already done confirmed by KingpinBot (talk · contribs) (this user currently has the rollback flag. Admins: remember to use a {{done}} template or alternative so the bot knows what the intended result is) - KingpinBot (talk) 10:10, 25 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have been actively fighting against vandalism for a little more than a year now, and I believe the rollback feature, in conjunction with Twinkle, would be a very useful tool. I've read about rollback and how it works...so I hope you'll consider me for rollback rights. Thanks. WANI ♪♫♪ 00:07, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want rollback rights because many edits I have seen I have had to copy and paste an old revision (see: WWE) where as I could have just clicked rollback Christianandjericho (talk) 06:32, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
(Non-administrator comment)You can restore an old revision by going to the old revision, clicking the edit button, and saving. Alternatively, you can use WP:TW for a rollback button. --Σ talkcontribs 06:54, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You only have one revert from what I reviewed. Get a couple of days or so of practice with the undo feature to demonstrate your knowledge of vandal-reverting (or, preferably 10-20 reverts that show your understanding), and once you've done that, feel free to re-request rollback, either here or on my talk page. User:Aleksa Lukic

I would very much like if you assign me a rollback permission. Last year, I was a successful rollbacker, but it has appeared severe problems, so I couldn't rollback any more. I was doing my job as rollbacker very well at the time. Although I am not special active user, from 1+ year in the past, I am an upstanding user here. I think I've gained all your confidence. If an admin give these rights, I'll be more active, because I'll got more rights, which I'll use appropriately. Alex discussion 20:34, 26 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done You were very recently blocked for sockpuppetry and a checkuser confirmed questionable edits while you were logged out as an IP.--v/r - TP 13:14, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but that was more than one year ago, I didn't repeat that since 27 June 2010, that's about 13 months ago. I have learned a lesson. Alex discussion 13:28, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
My bad, you're right. I read the date as 2011.--v/r - TP 13:30, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done I see very little recent vandalism fighting, therefore I must assess it particularly closely. And, well, although not overly bothered by the sock issue, I'm worried by edits such as these: [1] & [2], where you revert and report a user who has been removing bits of info sourced only to a blog from a BLP. Due to these, I do not feel comfortable granting you this flag, I'm really sorry. Salvio Let's talk about it! 16:10, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
But, you'll agree that isn't OK to remove some text (regardless whether is text sourced correctly or not) without adequate notice in edit summary, such edits often confuse me, they're not appropriate at all, and therefore I don't approve them, but I will be more careful further. It's much more difficult to revert bad edits without this privileges. However, I'll try to be consistent in my vandal-fight mission. Alex discussion 17:04, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted disruptive edits of many IP users. I sincerely hope that I can be granted this right, so I can contribute to Wikipedia more conveniently in future. -- 7D HMS (talk) 12:47, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Not done} due to lack of experience; you seem to be doing a good job, but I'd like to see a tad more experience, before granting you this flag. In the meantime, you can use WP:TWINKLE, which makes it very easy to revert vandals and issue warnings. Salvio Let's talk about it! 13:38, 27 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
