Update on courses and ambassador needs

Hello, Ambassadors!

I wanted to give you one last update on where we are this term, before my role as Online Facilitator wraps up at the end of this week. Already, there are over 800 students in U.S. classes who have signed up on course pages this term. About 40 classes are active, and we're expecting that many more again once all the classes are up and running.

On a personal note, it's been a huge honor to work with so many great Wikipedians over the last 15 months. Thanks so much to everyone who jumped in and decided to give the ambassador concept a try, and double thanks those of you who were involved early on. Your ideas and insights and enthusiasm have been the foundation of the program, and they will be the keys the future of the program.

Courses looking for Online Ambassadors

Still waiting to get involved with a class this term, or ready to take on more? We have seven classes that are already active and need OA support, and eleven more that have course pages started but don't have active students yet. Please consider joining one or more of these pods!

Michael Moore

Please go to Talk:Michael Moore to discuss the changes you want to make. You may want to present the changes one at a time rather than all at once, or at least split up the changes across multiple sections. You can't just try to force new info in by edit warring. Now, maybe what you want to add should be in the article--I really have no idea, nor am I going to investigate. Yes, I understand that GlassTwiceAsBig is also edit warring, and I'll have a chat with them as well. Qwyrxian (talk) 00:05, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mike, I came here from the BLP noticeboard. With regard to your cites, I invite you to take a look at what I have done on an article that I rewrote here: Albrecht Kossel. This cite style enables you to start a new template standard without disrupting the article. The only disruption you have will be moving the cites down to the refs section and slapping them in the template. Once you get a system down, this can go pretty fast. Regards--Jarhed (talk) 22:57, 6 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I completely understand how a person can get sucked into working on a big controversial article. If I never see the Sarah Palin article again it will be too soon. Yes sir, I did serve, and I call myself Jarhed as a personal joke about some of the pretentions some people hold about this place. Power, I have x thousand edits on WP, I AM GOD!!! SARK

Hello, Mike. I was just looking at the SARK article. Reference #2, (Covert, Pat. "Strike Force!" American Handgunner, January 2000), doesn't mention helicopter accidents, Marines, sailors or SARKs. So, it looks like it's in the wrong place. Same situation with the Emerson BLP. Good work on those articles! --Kenatipo speak! 00:41, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Conan article

Thanks, Mike. I would like to take up the offer. Could you email me the print articles about his swords for the film (I think I would have to reply back to have us know each other email's address for attachments)? Thank you. Jappalang (talk) 00:55, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, Mike. The Medieval Hero On Screen is already used as a source. Just wondering, do you have a personal picture of Samson at work (forging a sword) that you can release as "free"? Jappalang (talk) 23:05, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

WP:GA question

Hello Mike. First, I would like to thank you for reviewing Death of Osama bin Laden for a good article. Have a quick question about your comment. I've searched through the references, do you mean blogs like this, this, and this? Thank you again. -- Luke (Talk) 02:31, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I replaced most of the blog entries with news references. Thank you. -- Luke (Talk) 20:35, 13 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for passing my first GA! -- Luke (Talk) 19:19, 14 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
