GBA Releases?

No one has mentioned any of them in the article yet? I'm surprised. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.247.224.212 (talk) 03:22, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Spoiler Removal?

Can someone remove these spoiler-filled profiles, or at least edit them so they only say what is known from the beginning. It's ridiculous to have spoilers on the generic page for the series. Spoilers should be on the page for the game itself, if anywhere. It was horrible to come here and have the third game spoiled for me out of nowhere. The rules may allow spoilers, but that's no reason to be inconsiderate with them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.120.164.252 (talk) 02:29, 1 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other

No Fan girl crud on Wiki, please. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.120.156.111 (talk) 20:07, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'd rather have the fangirl crud than all these horribly spoilerific character decriptions. I'm amazed you guys have still left Legal as free of spoilerific description as you have, honestly. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.5.64.202 (talk) 18:09, 27 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Release Dates

Ok guys, someone has Spetember 13 as the release for Diabolical Box. Since Nintendo or Level-5 has yet to confirm this, it was vandalism. So I am going to have to change it on both this page, and the Diabolical Box page. AlexanderLD (talk) 10:30, 10 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Amazon.com slipped up at had Aug 24th posted as the release date. Google has cached the page -- see [1] Johnmora (talk) 04:00, 31 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sources, please?

Curious Village is the only game released in America so far. Are there any sources for the character descriptions for later games? A vampire character seems out of place to me. Alice2 (talk) 00:01, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am sure there are people here who knoe Japanese and have either played the game or read previews. I highly doubt that false information like that would exist for this long.--76.66.189.24 (talk) 22:00, 17 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Specter/Devil's Flute

AlexanderLD has stated that the press are referring to the game as Specter's Flute, but the first I heard of it was on wiki. IGN is calling it Devil's Flute, some pages on Wiki refer to it as Devil's Flute yet it keeps being changed to Specter's Flute.

The press seem to be giving it both names (I guess, since gametrailer's calls it Specter's Flute) but I've seen more places referring it to Devil's flute, like Joystiq, IGN, 1up.com etc. Earisu |Talk 19:54, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Episode Numbering

I'm adding episode numbering to the game titles in the Plot section as in the Japanese Wiki page for Professor Layton: [2] Cocomonk22 (talk) 08:05, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The numberings are based off of this page: [3] Cocomonk22 (talk) 08:05, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The first movie is also listed as Episode 1.5, but I'll leave that section as is unless anyone wants to change it a bit. Cocomonk22 (talk) 08:05, 5 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Revision needed?

Hello, not sure if this is intended or not but the "Plot" section of the article contains the following: "this game shows the professors mad puzzle solving attacks for the first time. he runs around saint mystere and solves puzzles.and more puzzles. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and more. and guess what? and more you presume? no, he's already solved enough puzzles for a couple of days." This should probably be corrected but I don't really have the proper skill to do so. Anyway, just jumped out at me. 68.82.238.70 (talk) 23:39, 10 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nice spot. That was only added earlier today, and was just added in to a section which previously just contained the link to the game's article. I just went ahead and reverted the edit. :) Dreaded Walrus t c 01:31, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Professor Layton Character Article

I think that an article based on the character of Professor Layton should be created. Other Nintendo series articles like the Mario series article has a Mario article, the Zelda series page has a Link article, etc. I believe that the series is popular enough for Professor Layton to have his own character article. Please take my suggestion into consideration. : ) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.60.243.144 (talk) 22:08, 30 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'd like to see this if only because Franziska von Karma gets an article, but I'm not entirely sure what could be added. Hammerbrodude (talk) 13:51, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
There's a character article on the Layton Wiki (I helped create it).[4]. If an article was created, it could be similar to this. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.60.248.57 (talk) 21:24, 18 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hm. If I can find a just a little more insight on the development of the character, I believe we would actually have the material to pull it off. Again, he's at least a more complex character than Lady von Whippenburg (I mean, given, I love her and all, but still...). Hammerbrodude (talk) 13:01, 20 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Number of puzzles in The Unwound Future

The article says that both the second and third games have 153 puzzles but in the UK the Lost Future is being advertised as having over 165 puzzles. Is the article wrong, the advertisement wrong or have more been added for Europe? eyeball226 (talk) 15:18, 29 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There are 168 puzzles in Unwound Future- and for that matter, 170 in the fourth game. I've edited this, though admittedly I'm a bit surprised nobody else has done it by now with the game having been out so long. Hammerbrodude (talk) 13:50, 30 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reception

I quote: "Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box was considered to be a major improvement from the original." - yet both games have scored roughly the same on Metacritic and GameRankings (as a matter of fact, Diabolical Box is rated 1% lower than the original on both sites). Judging by those aggregate scores, these games demonstrate a consistency of reception rather than "major improvements". -220.245.253.81 (talk) 07:21, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
