From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
GOOD Music is a record label and management firm founded by music producer Kanye West .[1] [2] "GOOD" is an acronym for "Getting Out Our Dreams".
History
In West's, GLC's, and Really Doe's early recording days, all three belonged to a group The Go-Getters.[3] Although none of them have an album under the label, West releasing his own albums with Roc-A-Fella Records .
John Legend and Common were the first to have albums produced under GOOD Music and between them received seven Grammy Award Nominations. Get Lifted with three, and Be with four.[4]
Over the years there has been confusion as to what the company actually is. GLC was quoted as saying that it “isn’t a label”, but that it is “a family and like a production company.” It is still down to the artist to come to a deal with a distribution company , which will be backed by GOOD Music.[5]
An anthology, GOOD Music: The Album , is to be released in Spring of 2012,[6] after the whole GOOD Music family met up in London to finish recording the album mid January.[7]
