Help needed to clear the Feedback Dashboard queue

Hi Salma Vian, a project has been constructed and Maryana (WMF) was wondering if you'd be able to help out with a research project her colleagues are running on the effects of MoodBar/Feedback Dashboard. They're trying to see if getting a response to MoodBar feedback helps newbies edit more – but to do that, they need to (temporarily) raise the level of responses to as close to 100% as possible. (Don't worry; it's only a week-long test.) If you could help me and her spread the word among the other FD top responders you know to help us clear the backlog by June 19th, that would be awesome! More details about this test are on this page on Meta. Let her know if you have any questions and feel free to get in touch with other FD leaders about this if you want :) Cheers,

User:Pacman451

This situation is all kinds of confusing, but I just wanted to make sure you were aware that the article in question, that is, CastleMiner, was not in fact created by User:Pacman451. He created the page Castle miner several days ago. but the information on that page essentially duplicated the content of the former article, so it was changed to a redirect to CastleMiner. He is confused, since whenever he tries to visit the page Castle miner, which he created, he is redirected to CastleMiner, which he did not created. The user seems to be under the impression that he either created CastleMiner, or that Castle miner was moved to CastleMiner, neither of which is true. Yeah, that was confusing. Even I got confused. When I responded to his feedback, I was kinda busy, so I didn't look at the article. But I just saw it. Salma, thank you so much from me and the research team for your work on clearing the Feedback Dashboard backlog! You and the other responders have doubled the number of responses to feedback in the past few days. I wanted to let you know that there are just 4 more days to go until the test ends. At that point, the MoodBar will be temporarily disabled, so you won't see any new feedback coming in for a little while (this is just to get a sample of users to compare to the ones who could give feedback and get responses from you – it'll be back soon). So get all of your responding in while you can, because you might have to go through a bit of Feedback Dashboard withdrawal next week :) Thanks again, and keep up the great work! I didn't expect that message, so thanks for showing that kindness there. I never really enjoyed reading various tutorial pages to learn things; I prefer more to just learn as I go, but nonetheless, thank you for those links as well. I'll be sure to put them to good use. And you're welcome for the feedback. I just clicked on the "Editing Wikipedia..." out of interest because I didn't remember it being there and figured since I had just finished editing something I would do the little miniature survey. Nice to finally know someone here on Wikipedia though, so again thank you for helping us newbies out.

Feedback Dashboard Update

Hello, Salma Vian. New feedback should slow down and then stop in the next couple of days – the researchers temporarily turned off the MoodBar for people registering right now, in order to get a control sample for their test – so you'll have time to catch up. It will be turned on again on the 29th. I just hope you don't get too bored next week without feedback! Maybe visit the Teahouse? Cheers,

...and leaving a message on my talk page. If you read my main user page, you'll see where I come from. In brief, after I got repeatedly attacked by User:Berean_Hunter here, here and here, when I tried to make a short edit in good faith, as a specialist and using my IP, I started to despair that this place is full of deletionists who love to delete and point the finger at good-faith users. At least a couple of other unbiased editors offered their opinion here and this kind of restored some of my faith in this place. To be honest, I am still in two minds whether Wikipedia is worth the effort of a specialist, or if it is just a nice hobby :( --H tan H epi tas (talk) 20:44, 15 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
