Template:Fire Emblem characters This is a character guide for the Super Famicom game Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu. Because the game has never been officially released in English-language territories, the names as presented here are the product of fan translation and the two official names given to the lead characters in mentions in Nintendo of America material. The alternate name spellings in parentheses are taken from the book Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu: TREASURE. Furthermore, it is possible that should Nintendo of America elect to localize Seisen no Keifu for the North American market, many of the names could be altered further or changed entirely. The same also holds true for the equally large markets in Europe and other PAL territories.

Lords

Sigurd (Siglud)

  • Class: Knight Lord

Sigurd (シグルド, Shigurudo) is the son of Lord Byron (Vylon) and a descendant of Baldo, one of the twelve Jugdral Crusaders. He eventually inherits the Tyrfing, Baldo's sword, from his father. Ethlin is his younger sister, and her marriage to Cuan of Lenster makes him his brother-in-law as well as his best friend. Sigurd is the prince of Chalphy Castle of the Kingdom of Grandbell. He leads an invasion of Verdane when Adean is kidnapped from Jungby Castle, during which he meets his wife, Diadora, and instantly falls in love with her. He then leads an invasion and occupation of Agustria after his friend Eltosian is imprisoned there. During the occupation his son Serlis is born. Sigurd is accused of treason against Grandbell and is forced to take refuge in Silesia. He returns to Grandbell later, eliminating the lords that put the blames on him, only to be killed in Alvis' plan. His son Serlis takes over in Chapter 6 of the game, finishing what he started.

According to the end of Chapter 6, Sigurd was well loved by many people of Jugdral continent. Oifaye calls him a "kindhearted man" when he rescues Shanan at Genoa Castle in Chapter 1. King Mananan of Isaac often looked to Sigurd's father Byron for advice. When Sigurd was younger and training to be a knight, he met Cuan of Lenster and Eltosian of Nodion of whom he quickly befriended. One night, they made a pact to each other, saying that they would always assist each others' dukedoms in times of desperate need.

His name is based on one way to translate the name Siegfried, the legendary hero in Norse mythology who slayed a dragon. However, the reference is not completely accurate since the mythological Siegfried's sword is the Balmung, which is not the sword for Baldo blood inheritors in game, but for the Odo blood inheritors.

Serlis

  • Class: Junior Lord – Lord Knight

Serlis (セリス, Serisu) was chronologically born in Agustria (of Grandbellian heritage) between Chapter 2 and 3 in the game. During his infancy, his mother Diadora was captured by Manfloy, leaving him without a mother. Eventually, as Sigurd approached Barhara, Serlis was sent into Isaac under the protection of Oifaye and Shanan. He was also raised by Adean, who acted a surrogate mother.

Serlis was taught how to fight by Shanan, and grew up with several other children, including Delmud, Lester, Lana, Scathach and Lakche. As son of Diadora, Serlis has two half-siblings: Julius and Julia. He doesn't know at first, but at a certain point of the game Levin tells him. In Isaac, the citizens proclaim Serlis the Prince of Light while calling the Prince of the Empire, Julius, the Prince of Darkness.

Aideen (Adean)

  • Class: Priest – High Priest

Aideen (エーディン, Ēdin) is a noblewoman of Jungby, Grandbell, daughter of Lord Ring, and descendant of Ulir. She has more predestined lovers than any other female character in Sigurd's tale. They are Midale, Azel, Dew, and Jamuka. She's a gentle, sweet, but still strong-willed young woman who was supposed to become a warrior, but preferred to become a cleric instead since she knew she wouldn't be able to kill people, preferring to aid her friends instead. At the very beginning, she is abducted by Gandolf and sent to Marpha, Verdane. Like the original Lena character, she appears with Dew after Jamka releases both of them from captivity. She bears Lana and Lester. She is officially introduced at the beginning of Chapter 1, shortly after Eltosian is through meeting with Sigurd. She bears Lakche and Skasaher if paired. She is a descendant of Odo, one of the 12 Jugdral Crusaders, and the daughter of King Mananan, who was assassinated by Duke Reptor of Freege. Ayra was born and raised in the eponymous capital of Isaac, a kingdom in the northeastern corner of the continent of Judgral, separated from its neighbors by desert. At the onset of Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu her older brother Mariccle was king of Isaac. Mariccle was prepared for death when his sister Ayra went into exile with his son Shanan to the Kingdom of Verdane to escape the Isaacian-Grandbellian War and to preserve the main branch of the Odo bloodline in the occasion of his death. Upon arrival to Verdane, she and Shanan were taken hostage; being a swordwoman, Ayra had no choice but to work as a mercenary for Genoa castle to protect Shanan. She was presumed dead during the game's ending, but it is unconfirmed whether she died in truth by the game's ending. She is predestined with Arden, Holyn, or Lex. He is really protective to Julia in the second half of the game. Other than him, Tiltyu also has a sibling named Ethnia. After surviving the Battle of Barhara, she and her daughter Tinny lose contact with Tiltyu's son Artur and go to live with Blume, where Tiltyu withstands for years the abuse of her sister-in-law Hilda to protect little Tinny. He attended the Royal Academy of Barhara with Sigurd and Cuan. He also is a friend of Beowulf. He has a younger sister named Lachesis. His wife Grahnye was from Lenster. In Chapter 1, he backs up Sigurd after either Genoa or Marpha is conquered, as Elliot attempts to take Evans Castle. In chapter 3, if Lachesis talks to him, he will give her the Earth sword, then return to Sivall and get killed.

Alvis

Alvis (アルヴィス, Aruvisu) is the Emperor of the Grandbellian Empire. He is the son of Victor, the womanizing duke of Velthomer, and Cigyun of the Verdane Spirit Forest, and is the paternal half-brother of Azel. He is of Fala descent on the paternal side and of Lopt descent on the maternal side. At the end of Chapter 5, Sigurd and his army fall into a fatal trap set by Alvis. Some of Sigurd's army survived the trap, but it is unclear who the survivors are. Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 confirms that Lachesis, Brigid, Levin and some others survived the trap. Fire Emblem: Seisen no Keifu also confirms that Aideen is still alive at the time of Chapter 6 (which picks up 17 years after Chapter 5), and that she now works in the Tilnanogue abbey in the Kingdom of Isaac.

In the second half of the game, Alvis ends up realizing that he was being used by Manfloy as a pawn, as his son Julius becomes the incarnation of Loputousu and spreads a reign of terror throughout Jugdral despite Alvis' own objections. Alvis perishes in Serlis's hands in revenge of Sigurd. Despite his past actions, Serlis himself judges that many of Alvis' actions and ideals, though skewed, were well-intended, and that he doesn't deserve to be demonised by history.

Manfloy

He is the archbishop of the Lopt Sect, who strives to revive the Dark Lord Loputousu, and is also the mastermind behind the Holy War and the Isaacian-Grandbellian War. He kidnaps and brainwashes Diadora in Chapter 3 and sends her for her half-brother Alvis to find so he can marry her. Manfloy manipulates Alvis and offers the dark tome of Loputousu to Yurius later on in the game.

In the final chapter, Manfloy brainwashes Yuria just like he did to Diadora, but Serlis eventually saves her when he kills Manfloy for the one being responsible for his parents' sorrows. He was also responsible for the assassination of Ayra's father King Mananan, with the use of Reptor the duke of Freege.

Trabant

The King of Thracia. He is shown to be ruthless and uncaring, due to the upbringing of Thracia's harsh nature. Though he comes off as a despicable man, his biggest wish is to make his people prosper and happy, regardless whether his actions will bring him to hell. He raises Altenna so he can utilize the Gae Bolg; it is also insinuated that he cares for her because of his unrequited love for Ethlin, Altenna's mother, who married Cuan. After passing the Kingdom of Thracia and Gungnir to Areone, his son, he goes to his final battle and dies there.

Blume (Bloom)

Leptor's eldest son. He is shown to be a ruthless ruler. Despite ignoring Hilda's torture of his sister Tiltyu, he is one of the people that cares for Teeny. He is defeated for good in Manster, after handing over the Thor Hammer tome to his daughter Ishtar.

Hilda

Blume's wife. She is a power hungry, masochistic woman who takes pleasure in committing evil things, including torturing both Tiltyu and Teeny and supporting Julius' child hunt propaganda. She pressures Ishtar to marry Julius, to give her a higher position in the Empire by granting her a link with the Emperor.

Julius (Yurius)

Julius (ユリウス, Yuriusu) is the son of Alvis and Diadora, the twin brother of Julia, and the younger half brother of Serlis. He serves as the primary antagonist and final boss of the second half of the game, due to Manfloy manipulating him into becoming possessed by his ancestor Loputousu. Julius implements the brutal Child Hunt, a major theme of both the second half of Seisen no Keifu and Thracia 776. He is in love with Ishtar, who seems to be the only person he cares about, and becomes jealous of any other man who pays attention to her.

Ishtar

Ishtar (イシュタル, Ishutaru) is the eldest daughter of Blume and Hilda. Despite her mother's abuse towards Teeny, Ishtar cares for her and becomes one of her best friends. She is in love with Julius, though she is against his child hunt propaganda. She makes her last stand in Barhara, fighting for her love and perishes.
