Content factually incorrect

Hi there

I was hoping you could help me, I am the communications manager of this organisation on this page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharmacybrands

We did not load this content, and it is not factually correct. We do not know the author and when I try to change it, I get warning messages that I will be deleted as an editor.

What do I do now? I am legally the owner of information on this company, it is also a listed company on the NZ stock exchange and therefore having incorrect content is a risk to our organisation.

We do not want to use the page for advertising, we just need to update the information to be factually correct.

Can you help me?

OMGuyZ seems to be running amuck on Wikipedia, creating several socks (OMGuyZ may be a sock itself, perhaps of a recently admonished user?), adding ridiculous user categories and, every now and again, contributing an edit (by any one of said socks) that needs to be undone. This user even seems to have "joined" several projects and even the welcoming committee, seemingly for the sole purpose of welcoming their own socks. Obviously, you've at least noticed one of the socks already, Thatoneguy95, which is why I am contacting you specifically about this. The admin Swatjester seems to have put an end to the category creation, but I'm not sure either of you have looked into the user's contributions further and noticed the myriad of lunacy.

As for me, I wouldn't normally become involved in something like this, but Google Chrome is a page they edited, and one of the few pages I watch, and I'd prefer not to have to undo another of their edits - or try to make heads or tails out of the validity of one of their newest page creations.

Thanks for your time. I hope you can find the original account and get a handle on this before whomever this user is wreaks too much more havoc.

GAFL edit

Hi Gogo Dodo,

I was wondering if it would be possible to re-edit the GAFL page to what I had before or something similar. I am trying to explain to my students (at GAFL) why (while Wikipedia is awesome) they need to be careful of user generated/moderated sites for research papers. Using Wikipedia for references and basic knowledge is a good starting point but their papers must use other sources as well. I was hoping to show that I can change a Wikipedia page to say what I wanted and that it may not be noticed. I had every intention of taking it down in a week if it hadn't been removed already. I mean no offense and apologize for the inconvenience.

My apologies

Hi Gogo Dodo,

I am sorry to have inconvenienced you and the Wikipedia Community. Again, I meant no offense. I appreciate your help and thank you for directing me to the School FAQs.

A curiosity

I noticed you deleted D-why under A7 of the CSD. I did nominate it under G12 as it was an unambiguous infringement. The site copied is apparently on the spam blacklist so I couldn't forward the report with the link included. I did make a comment to this effect. I am curious if you disagreed with my report, or if it even matters. But some will say I erred in the report because it was changed. I am also curious if copy pasting from a spam blacklisted site would be grounds to salt the title from creation. I am keen to see your reply. Disputed status of Gibraltar

Mr. Administrator:

First, apologize. I forgot 3RR, and then I created a new account to continue the edit war against four or more editors. Sorry. Now I try to reach consensus on talk page. I have proposed to remove some of my contributions that perhaps did not have a sufficiently reliable source and also refine others. I have proposed new sources and also have asked another editor to make clearly explicit its apparent rejection of sources that I think are worthy of all confidence. Finally, I have proposed a consensus on the wording of my contributions , but I get no response, which contrasts sharply with the speed with which my contributions were erased. Can I consider my proposal as accepted due to the silence?

I really forgot 3RR, as a real gang attacked me one after another, and then I did not think of that rule, when I saw the message was too late, then as I was very frustrated that the 3RR affect me only me, but never to them, because every time my contribution was erased by a different person, I created a new account ... and repent. If you can not understand, it's your problem.

On the issue of discuss for consensus, it is curious absence of those who so quickly erased the contributions of others without giving any justification. Obviously, if the topic is as controversial as you claim, it would be normal at least two interventions in the debate, but it seems that it is easier to leave when you have to actually agree on a solution.

Finally the questions are: Do I understand that none of my proposals are acceptable? The sources also? Do I have to seek a third opinion or I can go directly to the Arbitration Committee?--Juanmatorres75 20:00, 10 September 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Juanmatorres75 (talkcontribs)

For info, despite your warning, this editor has twice introduced the same contentious edits as he did before. He seems to be of the impression he can introduce POV material provided its sourced. Wee Curry Monster talk 11:21, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes I have, I would welcome your thoughts but from my perspective he has simply ignored my comments. He would appear to be simply restating the same position over and over. The problem is not the sourcing, although his sources are often biased, its the way he is selectively using sources for agenda based editing. The third opinion: "Several of the lines of discussion put forward border on original synthesis." Gogo Dodo: "I have not read any of of his comments really. I not very familiar With The subject matter". Wee Curry Monster: "The problem is not the sourcing" .... I consider wrong only one person stop someone edit their contributions, with no clear evidence that these are not acceptable.

A4add: May I know why you deleted the article?

Could you please let me know the reason of deletion? I have edited and added many details to help others. I have added all the point why this article is notable and the main advantage too. Please let me know the reason. I think you dont know anything about A4add?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Comsysaim (talkcontribs) 10:14, 12 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reply for A4add

Dear Gogo,

"helps you to build" - Whats wrong with that word? A4add is a service for technically poor peoples. You were having sort of articles in wiki like yola, webs, weeble...etc. And I added reference sites just to show others about the usage and as a evidence for wiki people(I can see the same reference sites in Yola, Webs pages). Those are Governments and organizations site who believed in A4add technology. I can remove it if that is not relavent. Could you please help me to edit the same to promote it to article page. What are the changes I have to make for this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.200.142.68 (talk) 05:20, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

"helps you to build" is a second person narrative often found in advertisements. The style of the Yola, Webs, and Weebly is different than what you created without any promotional material. Your inclusion of links to sites that used A4add was also promotional. You will notice that none of the aforementioned articles have links to sites that used their services. I suggest that you read Wikipedia's Business' FAQ and guide to writing your first article. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:56, 13 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted Page

Dear Gogo Dodo,

I am thankful that you have deleted the page I created because my friends and I were drunk at that time and tried to do something "stupid".

I assure you that such a thing will never happen again.
