Barbadian recording artist Rihanna has released six studio albums, three compilation albums, two remix albums and forty-five singles (including nine as a featured artist and two charity singles). She has sold more than 25 million albums and 60 million digital singles worldwide since the beginning of her career, making her one of the best selling artists of all time.[1] She has released five Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified platinum and multi-platinum albums in the United States. Eleven of Rihanna's singles have reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100; she is the seventh artist to achieve this feat.[2]

Rihanna made her chart debut in June 2005 with "Pon de Replay", which reached the top-five in over five countries. It was followed by the release of her debut studio album, Music of the Sun, which peaked in the top-ten on the Canadian Albums Chart and the US Billboard 200.[3][4] Rihanna's second studio album A Girl like Me was released on April 11, 2006. It produced four singles: chart-toppers "SOS" and "Unfaithful", as well as "We Ride" and "Break It Off"; the latter featured Jamaican rapper Sean Paul. "SOS" became Rihanna's first number-one single on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned a platinum RIAA certification.[5][6] Rihanna released her third studio album Good Girl Gone Bad in June 2007. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and was certified two-times platinum in the United States and quintuple platinum in the United Kingdom.[4][6][7] The album's lead single "Umbrella", which featured American rapper Jay-Z, became a massive commercial success, peaking at number-one in several charts, including the Billboard Hot 100 where it stayed atop for seven consecutive weeks.[8] Seven more singles were released from the album, including "Don't Stop the Music", "Take a Bow" and "Disturbia". Rihanna made guest appearances on numerous singles, including "Live Your Life" with rapper T.I., and "Run This Town" with rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West. Rihanna's fourth studio album, Rated R, was released in November 2009. Five singles were released from the album, including the commercial success "Rude Boy", which topped the Australian Singles Chart and the Billboard Hot 100 for five straight weeks.[9][10]

Rihanna collaborated with American rapper Eminem on "Love the Way You Lie" in 2010; the song was a worldwide success, reaching number one in more than twenty countries globally.[11] The song was certified quintuple platinum by the RIAA for shipping more than five million copies.[6] Rihanna released her fifth studio album Loud in November 2010. The album was certified platinum in the United States and six times platinum in the United Kingdom.[6][7] It produced seven singles including the commercially successful hits, "Only Girl (In the World)", "S&M" and "What's My Name?" which featured Canadian rapper Drake. On November 18, 2011, Rihanna released her sixth studio album Talk That Talk. The album's lead single "We Found Love" featured British DJ Calvin Harris, who also produced the song. It became a worldwide success, peaking at number one in more than twenty national charts. It stayed at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for ten weeks, the most of all her singles.[12]
