The Football Association of Penang enters a team in Malaysian football competitions to represent the state of Penang. The team currently plays in the third-level division of Malaysian football, the Malaysia FAM League. Their home stadiums are the Penang City Stadium in George Town and the Negeri Pulau Pinang Stadium in Batu Kawan.
For the 2012 Malaysia FAM League season, Penang FA has been renamed to Penang AUCMS due to the sponsorship of Allianze University College of Medical Sciences (AUCMS). The team finished 6th in the league and will spend the 2013 season there once again.
After a 2 year stint in the third-level division of Malaysian football, FA Penang has finally changed it's board of management, seeing a new president, Mohd Foaz Abdul Hamid. Foaz has taken serious actions in bringing back the glory days to Penang. He has settled down the debts that the team owed to MPPP and has finally brought back the football team to it's legendary Stadium Bandaraya, which is famous for it's 'Keramat Roar'. The team have managed to earn the services of new and also experienced players from the upper division of Malaysian football with the hope of gaining promotion to the Malaysian Premier League. The team will be sponsored by sports clothing brand, Joma from 2013-2016. The
