Merge proposal

I think that it makes sense to merge the three articles currently in existence on Desire: Desire (emotion), Desire (philosophy) and Desire (psychoanalysis). I suggest that the merged article should occupy the Desire article name, with the related concepts and films, songs, etc. moved to Desire (disambiguation), since none of the three titles currently in use would be appropriate for a comprehensive treatment. Comment - If you suggest a merge you should include a rationale, resp. the reasons why you think that a merge is indicated. Morton Shumwaytalk 18:08, 14 March 2011 (UTC).[reply]
I warmly agree. The term is not and cannot be precisely defined, Longing redirects here and there is a big mess in IW references, which cannot be corrected in the present state. IMHO, the German equivalent should be Sehnsucht, the French one Désir etc. --Sokoljan (talk) 14:28, 6 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move

– The emotion of longing is clearly the primary topic for this term. The philosophy is about how this emotion is treated by philosophers, thus a sub-topic of the emotion. Finally, since the emotion is primary topic, the disambiguation page gets disambiguation in its name. Ego White Tray (talk) 04:21, 2 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
