Please stop using talk pages such as Talk:Sega Genesis for general discussion of the topic. They are for discussion related to improving the article; not for use as a forum or chat room. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. See here for more information. Thank you. it was not general topic... It was suggestion to improve the article... remove the yank bias and name the article appropriately...

Genesis/Mega Drive

Hey. Don't bother trying to get the Americans to change the article's name to Mega Drive again, they won't budge, and they'll just delete all your posts. It's a losing battle, my friend; it's a losing battle. Wikipedia has clearly fallen on hard times. Andre666 (talk) 19:29, 12 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent editing history at Talk:Sega Genesis shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. McDoobAU93 04:01, 13 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked temporarily from editing for edit warring. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.

Civility

Looking at your edit warring and tone in your summaries, let me just say you need to step back a little, use the article talk page, quit using the edit summary as a means to insult, and just discuss before reverting. Otherwise, you will be blocked. Dennis Brown - © Join WER 21:16, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia. I'm sorry you've had a bad start.

It takes two people to make an "edit war". Who is right and who is wrong does not matter. If either one of you stops, while it is discussed, there's no more edit-war.

You may have a point about the naming. But, stop saying "yank" - it's rude. Discuss it, in a civil way.

I've asked the other person to discuss it with you; I hope you can listen to what they have to say, and discuss it in a nice, friendly way. The idea, here, is to make the articles better.

Remember, this page has been around for years - and it'll be here for many more years. So if it is "wrong" for a few days while we all chat about it, that really doesn't matter.

I really hope that helps. Please, try to stay calm, and talk it through. Best if you don't change it again until there is a clear agreement. 88.104.17.92 (talk) 21:22, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 1 week for attempting to harass other users, as you did at User talk:Dennis Brown. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.  Favonian (talk) 21:18, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Oh. Well, that's that idea shot down in flames then. 88.104.17.92 (talk) 21:22, 17 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
