Ryan James (born 20 July 1991) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer for the Gold Coast Titans of the National Rugby League. His position is primarily in the Second Row but can also play Prop. He is eligible to play for the New South Wales Country rugby league team and the New South Wales rugby league team. He has been likened to the former New Zealand forward Jason Cayless in both appearance and style of play.

Career

In 2006 James represented the NSW CHS schoolboy team,where he was signed by the Gold Coast Titans.In 2008, James represented his school, Palm Beach Currumbin High School, in the ARL Schoolboy Cup. His school won the final against Matraville Sports High School 24-22 and James also won the Peter Sterling Medal for Player of the Year. In the same year he represented the Queensland Schoolboys and the Australia Schoolboy rugby league team.

He made his NRL debut in round 14 of the 2010 season for the Gold Coast Titans at Skilled Park. The Gold Coast won 28-14 over the Manly Sea Eagles, James starring on debut against Manly's more experienced forward pack.[1]

He has played four matches in the 2010 NRL season, coming off the bench each time and winning 50% of his matches.

He was named in the 2010 National Youth Competition Team of the Year in the second row.

James played in the 2011 All Stars match, coming off the bench for the Indigenous All Stars.
