Maha Samadhi celebrations
The Mambalapattu 21 Feet Saneeswara Sannadhi (Actually located in Kalpattu region) was built to commemorate the 50th Maha Samadhi celebrations of Sri Swayam Prakasha Saraswathy Avadhutha Swamigal. Even today this tradition is upheld at Kalpattu Sri Swayam Prakasha Avadhutha Ashramam and there are no hundis or any commercial activities. Everything, including accommodations, are free in the Ashramam. Since the inception on November 4, 1998, continuously free annadhanam is offered. All activities are purely through voluntary donations only. During every Sanipeyarchi (Saturn’s transit) more than 200,000 are fed with prasadhams. The organisation strongly believes charging money for darshan and food is a sin in a holy place like the ashramam. A 20 feet Saneeswara Bhagavan here is in a standing posture and possibly the biggest Saneeswara Bhagavan. The bhagavan is called Sri Yoga Saneeswarar.
