I was wondering what ever with to the CD of illustrations for De re metallica, did they make it to you? How did the look? Cowtowner (talk) 05:42, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

WikiCup

Hi- as I know we've fratched over the WikiCup before, I thought you may be interested in a comment I left on another user's talk page. Any thoughts you have on the matter are appreciated. Feel free to ignore if not! J Milburn (talk) 23:21, 2 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'll try to take a look at it, but not that Wiki active. I didn't think we scrapped. WikiCup was just a natural thing that my segueing analytical interest wandered to. I thought you all kinda came out OK in the analysis I ran. In any case, it's a program and running well and for a while and mostly to your credit.
Was actually thinking of you all and even entering the thing (then winning it, hoisting the Cup over my head, running a victory lap around your computer while doing a Gastineau sack dance).  ;-P
Hope you are taking care of IRL things. See ya round, man.
TCO (talk) 02:24, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I skimmed it. First thank you for thinking of me. Second, your changes are very impressive. Hope they work well for your program and that your players enjoy the competition and the creative work. I'm sure they will benefit the readers.TCO (talk) 02:37, 3 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks; hopefully the WikiCup will continue to develop further in that regard. If you want to join us next year, you'd be more than welcome- it's a lot of fun, and certainly something I'm proud to be a part of. Also pleasantly drama-free, as the majority of people who take part are not exactly drama lovers. J Milburn (talk) 17:17, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The whole megillah

I'll have to save the riff on The Planet of the Apes for you since my comments are wasted on other talk pages! ;)

Blessed are the peacemakers

TCO, I saw your post on a user page. I've made statements on Wikpediocracy (in the Governance thread, "Down with ____", which hasn't been renamed, despite my efforts). In particular, I wrote that I don't want an apology and am happy with no contact.

However, the massive logs have to be dealt with.

It's been a scandal when politicians have made "jokes" like "if you cannot rape your wife, who can you rape?" and last summer's "If it's a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down". Such persons are not the Republican spokespersons, representing the Republican Party to the world. In fact, they have been quickly removed from their public positions, but allowed to serve in other capacities.

Such a change can only be good for the individuals and the organizations. The individuals have time to focus on needed change and a rest from public conflict.

Hi Stifle: You marked Gymnastics Examiner as approved on 03 MAR, but it is still not working. Also a user went and archived it. Help?

See here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MediaWiki_talk:Spam-whitelist#Gymnastics_Examiner_still_not_working

TCO (talk) 01:45, 1 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Approved means that it has been authorized for whitelisting, which is one of the steps on the way to being whitelisted. Only when it is marked "done" or "added" is it possible to add it onto an article. I understand one of my colleagues has now marked this "done". Stifle (talk) 19:17, 5 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Gary Morgan, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Final Countdown (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

I hope you don't mind, but I did a restoration of this, in the hopes it would deal with the issues Wingtipvortex raised. Adam Cuerden (talk) 22:49, 6 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipediocracy

Hi TCO, did you see the talk page, I'd be cautious about removing the EXT, would you consider undoing [1] ? (the portal can go of course) Widefox; talk 17:02, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No, I didn't know there was some agreement to have two (?) copies of the link. I know there is some kerfuffle about linking in general. But I was just being a good content writer and eliminating a duplication, like I would on any article. If you want to stick it back, go ahead. (I'm not on some mission to hide the link or promote it. I will just take it as more cruftiness.)  ;-) TCO (talk) 17:09, 11 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, appreciate the duplication argument and no explicit agreement on two links. Most of the articles I see have them duplicated (arguably the infoboxes have grown too large according to WP:Wikipedia_Signpost/2013-07-10/Dispatch). If you don't feel like doing it, I may do it....not in any rush to mind.... :) Widefox; talk 14:14, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I part undid your edit per guideline WP:ELPOINTS - the separate issue of whether to include is per talk page, more there Talk:Wikipediocracy. Widefox; talk 15:44, 12 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

No guts

You may be right, but you may wish to sign your posts when you are being so emphatic ;) Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 03:19, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man. TCO (talk) 03:21, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Oh...and regarding "guts", that reminds me of the farmer's story. He told some lady at church that he had been moving manure...and she said "you mean fertilizer please!" He just looked at her and said, "ma-yam, you wouldn't believe how long it took my wife to get me to call it manure."

Barnstar

Your Opinion is More Important than You Think Barnstar
To TCO, for comments at RfA. Axl ¤ [Talk] 09:13, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I am dismayed to see the rebuttal to your recent RfA !vote. This sort of harrassment has become a growing trend at RfA. I agree with you that article creation puts admins in a better position to determine CSD and AfD eligibility, although I don't place as much emphasis as you do. It looks like the RfA is going to pass, but that does not diminish the importance of opposition !votes—indeed minority views need to be aired and your reasoning is certainly valid. Best wishes. Hi TCO, as per your statement to allow you to reconsider, please see my post under your oppose. JustBerry (talk) 15:37, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Civility Barnstar
Although I may disagree with you on your oppose of Huon's RfA, you have raised some quality support behind your argument. With civility, you have successfully communicated your opinion in the Wikipedian community, and I would like to honor you with this barnstar for the manner in which you did so. JustBerry (talk) 18:53, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks man.

1. You deserve it more yourself...I figured there would be a re-re-rebuttal.

2. This award is sooooo not me. I always duck when the orange bar comes up.

See you round the Wiki. Good luck in editing and real life. I'm going to go lift legs and blade/bike. (I think lift after, blading up hills after working on legs is just too harsh.)TCO (talk) 18:57, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, no problem anyway. See you around as well. --JustBerry (talk) 19:02, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Content from 2009

A few weeks ago, you posted that I owed some content from the era of my Volokh Conspiracy posts in 2009. Perhaps senility has set in, but I am not recalling what you are referring to. If you can refresh my recollection I will see if I can help. Regards, Newyorkbrad (talk) 20:02, 14 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
