The article claims he's the youngest man to be mayor - mentioning his age would be interesting, at the moment that rather relevant fact is left as an exercise for the reader. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.71.42.197 (talk) 00:42, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point; his dob hasn't been found yet but he is 38. The info has been added to the article.  Frank  |  talk  01:49, 12 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Some content here should have inline citations, which might be available in the reference section. Since he's running for office, particular care and edits are likely in order. Specific parts: references to "gained a reputation as a quick study of local policy." references to how he "led" City Council initiatives, (was he the only one? did he make the proposals?) reference to "has also shown a strong penchent for personal responsibility, refusing a City Council pay increase in 2008." (misspelling of penchant, shouldn't use the word anyway. Has he declined future pay increases? How much is his pay as mayor? Has he had to recuse himself from discussions that involve his work?) reference to "has worked to reinforce Charlotte's role as a critical energy industry hub," (what specifically does that mean?) reference to "hosted a series of town hall meetings with unemployed workers," (didn't someone else pay for those meetings and he just showed up? what does "hosted" mean?) etc. Not questioning his leadership; just want to make the article stronger and less disputable. 14:20, 30 October 2011 (UTC)underoak — Preceding unsigned comment added by Akrewson (talkcontribs)

Ease of nomination to Transportation Secretary

This is suspect. Beckons some investigation as to how this is possible when impeding Obama has been the consistent mantra.--Wikipietime (talk) 23:07, 28 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It's terribly interesting, there is no mention in this article of Mayor Foxx hosting the Democratic National Convention for the re-election of President Barack Obama as one of the bright accomplishments of his time as Mayor of Charlotte. Could there be some correlation between his hosting the DNC, and his subsequent appointment to Transportation Secretary?
