Ewa Wiśnierska-Cieślewicz

Is she Polish or German? [1] (one of the cited sources) states that she's a member of the German national team, and other articles (e.g. [2], [3], [4], [5], [6], as well as many others) also describe her as German. -- Schneelocke 20:39, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

German. See the video at [7]; caption says "German paraglider", and she's wearing a German national team jersey. GregorB 21:36, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The German WP page says she is Polish. I don't put much trust in the press accounts of the accident, since they may have assumed she is German from her team membership. In the newly added reference, she is ambiguous on her nationality, and she self-identifies as a "European", though it does note that she still has a polish passport. I changed "German" to "German team" to work around this ambiguity, since that and "Polish born" are both verifiable. Dhaluza 01:09, 27 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Full stall not a descent method

The mentioning of a full stall to descent quickly is utterly clueless. Full Stall is almost never used to descent quickly because, a it only results in moderate sink rates of 6 m/s and b it is a difficult and unstable maneuvre. The most effective descent method is a deep spiral. The citation of full stall as a descent method by Joe Simpson, only shows that Simpson is clueless about paragliding.
