The Streaming Songs chart is a chart released weekly by Billboard magazine in the United States. It represents one of the three components, along with airplay (Hot 100 Airplay) and sales (Hot Digital Songs and Hot Singles Sales), that determine the chart positions of songs on the Billboard Hot 100, which ranks the most popular hits in the United States.[1]

According to Billboard, the Streaming Songs chart is the week's top streamed radio songs and on-demand songs and videos on leading online music services. Hot 100 Airplay, Hot Digital Songs and Streaming Songs data is used to compile the Billboard Hot 100.[2]

Billboard editorial director Bill Werde said that "Harlem Shake"'s success prompted them to enact the chart policy after two years of discussions with YouTube".[3]

The first number-one Streaming song was "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore on Jan 19, 2013.[4] As of the issue dated July 6, 2013, the Streaming Songs chart has had 6 different number-one hits. Its current number one is "Wrecking Ball" by Miley Cyrus. The song with the record of the most most weeks at number one on the chart is "We Can't Stop" by Miley Cyrus with 11 consecutive weeks spent atop.
