Keep I think you are A little confused here, Template:Infobox religious leader is about religious leaders, not Clerics nor religious biography. for example: In Iran, there are Thousands Clerics, but not all of them are leaders, Ruhollah Khomeini was a leader, Ali Khamenei is a leader, but Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani & Mohammad Khatami are not leaders. - The articles Ali Khamenei and Ruhollah Khomeini are biographies of a religious scholar, so the religious biography template would be appropriate for both.
