New Horizon Scholars School is located in Kavesar near Anand Nagar Circle off State Highway 42 (Maharashtra) (commonly referred to as Ghodbunder Road) in Thane (West) under the Mumbai Metropolitan Region. It is a branch of the New Horizon Scholars School from the Navi Mumbai suburb Airoli. The school includes a pre-primary education section called Neo Kids.
Bus service is provided from convenient locations across Thane City including[Ghodbunder Road, Pokran Road, Majiwada, Kopri, and Mumbra.
The school's Chairman is Mr. Subir Kumar Banerjee. The Secretary is Mrs. Suvra Banerjee. The Director and Principal is Dr. Nicholas Correa.
History
The Chairman of the school, Mr. Subir Kumar Banerjee, inaugurated the school on October 16, 2012. The first academic year commenced on June 21, 2013.
Curriculum
New Horizon follows the curriculum of India's Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).[1]
Evaluation
In an effort to minimize fear of examinations, the school has scrapped exams in lower classes, including primary and pre-primary classes. Instead, it uses continuous and comprehensive evaluation for all classes, which consists of formative and summative evaluation.
Activities
The school has a curriculum blend of scholastic and co-scholastic activities. All the activities conducted in the school contribute to the personality development of children with an emphasis on public-speaking skills, music, and other aesthetic arts.
Special Activities
Coaching is offered in a number of areas including: Chess, dance, aerobics, karate, and skating. Facilities for these activities include playgrounds and areas for sports such as football, basketball, volleyball, badminton, and athletics.
