Here are some tasks awaiting attention:

Fred.

Article should explain the period after "Fred", which is a curiosity in English. Tempshill 19:28, 25 May 2007 (UTC) yea, what is up with that 96.227.151.184 (talk) 23:06, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Fred. ist the abbreviation for Frederik, or, to be more precise, the abbreviation used since 1916, when Thomas Frederik Olsen turned his enterprise into a holding company, after his son Rudolf had joined in 1914. The name quite obviously also refers to his uncle Frederik Christian, 1815–1875, who had bought the first two "Olsen"-ships in 1848, which Fred.Olsen & Co. claimes to be the year it was founded. founded by Petter Olsen in 1848 ???

It seems unlikely that Petter who first bought a ship in 1852 can be considered to be the "founder" of a shipping company in 1848. Besides, neither norwegian wikipedia nor Fred.Olsen & Co. claim Petter to be the founder (nor deWP, but thisone was recently edited by me ;))

I'm not going to edit the article, but I suggest this should be done. [w.] 17:49, 14 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
