About the World Championship bracket

I may not notice that we should use more standard templates for 2014 Ice Hockey World Championship. The seed received by a team could be display next to the team on every round (as in soccer and basketball).

Here is my finished templates I would suggest:

     Advance to the quarterfinals
     Did not make playoffs
     Relegated to Division I-A 2015

Group A

Team GP W OTW OTL L PTS
 Canada 7 7 0 0 0 21
 Sweden 7 5 1 1 0 18
 Slovakia 7 5 0 1 1 16
 Czech Republic 7 2 2 0 3 10
 France 7 3 0 0 4 9
 Norway 7 1 1 0 5 5
 Denmark 7 1 0 2 4 5
 Italy 7 0 0 0 7 0

Group B

Team GP W OTW OTL L PTS
 Russia 7 6 1 0 0 20
 Finland 7 5 1 0 1 17
 United States 7 5 0 0 2 15
 Belarus 7 3 1 1 2 12
  Switzerland 7 3 0 2 2 11
 Germany 7 1 1 0 5 5
 Latvia 7 1 0 0 6 3
 Kazakhstan 7 0 0 1 6 1

The "did not make playoffs" is useless, just leave it "white" or whatever it is by default. As for the bracket, maybe take a look at the earlier editions? What you suggest is something we already have... Kante4 (talk) 10:37 pm, 20 February 2014, last Thursday (2 days ago) (UTC+1)
Templates updated, by me. AaronWikia (talk) 14:28, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
See above. The bracket is the one we use and only green/red are needed. All in all: That's what we've did for the last year(s)... Kante4 (talk) 18:45, 6 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

IIHF World Championship

Please don't make this article a re-direct to 2014 Men's World Ice Hockey Championships, as this article deals only with the championship round of the entire tournament, just like the other IIHF World Championship articles. GoodDay (talk) 16:07, 12 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Groups and seeding

Group prediction seems well, why not. But I think the format isn`t yet confirmed. To be determined at IIHF congress on Friday IMHO. --CZMajkl (talk) 17:27, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Symbolism

A cross (†) is a symbol of Jesus' crucifixion of Jesus and his death at Calvary. Why do we use it to refer to the country qualified as a host? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 188.175.97.246 (talk) 20:38, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why not? I could not care less about "Jesus"... Kante4 (talk) 22:33, 2 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Are you sure it is not a chinese '10'?18abruce (talk) 01:40, 3 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
From "†"'s wiki article: A dagger, or obelisk, U+2020 † dagger (HTML: † †), is a typographical symbol or glyph. In fact, "christian cross" has its own Unicode, for example: U+271D. Though they seem to be the same, they're not. 82.141.126.28 (talk) 00:25, 13 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When will the teams be set?

Does anyone know when the national teams for these games will be all set?

Rosters are known a day or so prior to the start. It all depends. Official the IIHF publishes them on the start date of the tournament. Kante4 (talk) 19:32, 4 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
