How to start?

Note: This article is about Sambalpur and we can include Hirakud and Burla as sub urban areas of Sambalpur, but this article is definitely not for Sambalpur district. Sambalpur district is a separate article. Please do not add anything to this article which is not related to Sambalpur city, Hirakud and Burla. If you want to know how to go about making this article a featured article then read these pages first Wikipedia:Good article criteria and manual of style.

Putting up own or relatives name in emminent personalities of Sambalpur

Even I would like that to happen but not by my own hand but by people's recognition. Its requested to avoid such editing adventures or mis-adventures. Try not to put your name or any family kin or friend's name in the list and bring disgrace to persons whose name is already there. --AkkiDa 09:09, 26 December 2010 (UTC)

WP:INDIA Banner/Orissa Addition

Note: {{WP India}} Project Banner with Orissa workgroup parameters was added to this article talk page because the article falls under Category:Orissa or its subcategories. Should you feel this addition is inappropriate , please undo my changes and update/remove the relavent categories to the article -- Amartyabag TALK2ME 03:40, 5 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sambalpur vs. Swat Valley (Vajrayana Buddhism)

Both Sambalpur and the Swat valley have been named as the historical origin of King Indrabhuti of Uddiyana. This article does not mention that there is any divergence of opinion regarding this. Moreover, the entire article is based on the works of one author (Pasayat), and, certainly in this particular aspect, without further evidence, the historic location of Uddiyana and it's famous king must not be couched as fact. Cleaning up

I have started cleaning up this article, as certain information which are not pertained to Sambalpur is still there. There is a need for better photos. If you are having very good photographs of Sambalpur then upload it to the gallery. AkkiDa| TALK2ME 01:20, 30 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]

I would suggest that what ever content you are posting here should be verifiable and supported by e.g. references they should be unambiguous and should not be your personal feelings. —Preceding unsigned comment added by AkkiDa (talkcontribs) 14:01, 1 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orissa or Odisha

As per an act of the parliament in the year 2010 [1] Orissa will be known as Odisha and Oriya will be known as Odia. Its requested that any body making any edit in this article henceforth should use Odiya and Odisha. Kosal and Western Odisha

I have been witnessing a constant effort by persons to change text like "Western Odisha" and "Kosal" with "Odisha". There is nothing wrong with this but is there anything wrong if anybody writes Western Odisha or Kosal. Kosal is a region in Odisha like Vidharba in Maharashtra; then why are we trying to do this act of foolishness, and whom are we trying to fool! Secondly whereever in the article it was mentioned regarding the Separate state demand in western Odisha, that portion has been deleted. Come on TV channels are saying this, its all there in the net and newspapers. Still you want to do this!

My only and sincere request to editors to refrain from such acts.--AkkiDa (talk) 06:56, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
