WP:JSTOR access

Hello, WP:The Wikipedia Library has record of you being approved for access to JSTOR through the TWL partnership described at WP:JSTOR . You should have recieved a Wikipedia email User:The Interior or User:Ocaasi sent several weeks ago with instructions for access, including a link to a form collecting information relevant to that access. Please find that email, and follow those instructions. If you were not approved, did not recieve the email, or are having some other concern or question, please respond to this message at Wikipedia talk:JSTOR/Approved. Thanks much, Sadads (talk) 21:19, 5 August 2014 (UTC) Note: You are recieving this message from an semi-automatically generated list. If you think you were incorrectly contacted, make sure to note that at Wikipedia talk:JSTOR/Approved.[reply]

Hi @Sadads: and @Ocaasi: or @The Interior:. I had requested JSTOR access two years ago when I actually had what can be described as a fiery passion to build articles from the scratch. However, my motivation has subsequently been depleted and totally destroyed of late and I don't think I even want to edit these days. I don't deserve any access because I'm comfortable with Google these days and don't think I'll do justice to a paid subscription given that I suck lately. Apart from this, I have never received a mail about JSTOR access on the email address registered. That's all. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:13, 6 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Srikanth

Hi there Srikanth, Sorry to trouble you but i need you to take a look at Mahanagari Express & Abhishek191288's recent edits on it. He has using one excuse or another removed a large amount of information. The article in my opinion has a very poor finish & hardly contains any worthwhile information.

I need your assistance as a fellow wikipedian & senior privileged editor. I would very much like to know your opinion.

Superfast1111 (talk) 13:59, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@Abhishek191288: has not edited it at all. @Superfast1111:, are you accusing him of editing using the IP as a sock? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:11, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, my mistake. I did not know he had changed his username. @LeoFrank:, sorry to trouble you. There is nothing wrong in the removal, in fact, it is appropriate. Please read the reasons he specified in the edit summaries. Superfast, you need a lot of reading up to do on the policies. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:15, 7 August 2014 (UTC).[reply]

Yes, Sorry i should have mentioned his renaming. I do know that there are a lot of policies for reading but they read like legal documents & i for one have trouble understanding them due to their length & complexities but thanks for your opinion.

Superfast1111 (talk) 14:22, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Lemme put it in simple words. He removed two bits under two reasonings. One was WP:OR and one was WP:NOTTRAVEL. OR refers to Original Research. Saying that xyz trains runs with x no of coaches because you have seen it and counted it, comes under OR. It needs to be backed up with a reliable source, which can either be a news source or a government source. Not Travel refers to Travel guide-ish bits of text, that are also not encyclopaedic. These bits can go on WikiVoyage, but are not needed on Wikipedia. @Superfast1111:, I hope this clears it up. Please ensure that what you add is backed up with a source. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 14:28, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • WP:NOTTRAVEL did make sense to me after a few round of discussions. But it is nearly impossible to create an article on Indian Railways without some form of WP:OR especially on some of the less popular or trains that were introduced a while ago and what about traction information - Indian Railways absolutely never ever discloses the traction information, you have to put your feet on the ground for that. I literally blistered my feet walking through the various platforms but hey trains are my passion.

Superfast1111 (talk) 14:56, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This ought to be discussed at WP:INB. --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 15:00, 7 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]
