Promotion and Relegation

Whittlesea earned promotion to Division 1 for the first time in it's history after defeating Lower Plenty to win the 2010 Division 2 premiership, whilst Lalor, who finished bottom of Division 1, were relegated to Division 2. Hurstbridge became the first team in league history to be promoted from Division 3 after defeating Parkside in the 2010 Division 3 Grand Final. The Division 3 competition began after Round 13 2009, when the league split Division 2, however because only half a season of Division 3 competition had been played in 2009, no team was promoted for the 2010 season. Watsonia were relegated to Division 3 following a win less 2010 season in Division 2.
