About myself

[edit]

I am TitanOne of the defunct online badminton team Timog Titans. I have spent several years in the call center industry before transferring to research and resolutions for an information services company. I am also a professional fashion photographer, the link to my Flickr page is as follows. I normally go to Wikipedia during my free time when I am at home under this username TitanOne (previously Maverx). I usually patrol new articles and recent changes with my daughter beside me because when she falls asleep it means that I should probably log-off already. I also advocate new articles to be listed on Wiki’s did you know section at the main page.

I used to play football back in college and high school but opted to shift sports in the account of a major foot injury about 10 years ago. I also enjoy online gaming, specifically sports titles , sandbox type games and the Halo (series). I enjoy travelling, but I do not consider myself as a tourist but rather a an explorer. I am more interested in the ancient world and sort of the mil-adventure seeker, one of my goals is to visit Rongbuk Monastery which overlooks Mt. Everest (no I do not plan to reach the summit) and take a photo of the majestic mountain. As a licensed NAUI scuba diver I bum around beaches and spend most of my time at marine sanctuaries.

Did you know?

[edit]

I've created/expanded 33 articles which has appeared on Wikipedia's main page, specifically at the Did you know? section. I use to have it listed at this page but I had to move it to a sub page as it expanded. I have however listed the articles below:

User, DYK best hooks

[edit]

To this date I consider the hooks below as the best ones I've done for the DYK project:

...that the gamma-ray burst (GRB) 090423 (pictured), whose light took approximately 13 billion years to reach Earth, is the oldest and most distant known object in the Universe?

--This article was done at the time of its discovery, two other galaxies with red shifts of 8.5 and 10.2 were subsequently discovered. As of February 2011, this GRB is now the 3rd most distant object in the Universe. --TitanOne (talk) 11:48, 8 March 2011 (UTC)

Update: As of March 2015 - GRB090423 had been re-established as the most distant object in the universe TitanOne (talk) 17:44, 9 March 2015 (UTC)

Messier 100 galaxy

...that five supernovae have been found in the Messier 100 spiral galaxy (pictured)?

Glee Logo

...... that the American television show Glee was written with the aid of Screenwriting for Dummies?

The Wet Trout

[edit]

I have been giving away wet trout awards for the most humorous edits I’ve encountered here in Wikipedia. I understand that not all may agree with me, why we should give recognition for these types of edits, rest assured that these awards are given in the name of pure humour and nothing else. I only award these trouts to edits done by registered users, none for those done by IP addresses.

WikiVampires

[edit]

I've always lived harmoniously with the other beings in the Wikifauna until quite recently I’ve encountered a new type of wikicreatures which I’ve discovered. Upon further research, I found out that they are WikiVampires, creatures of Wikipedia who sucks the editing life out of you and even newbies. They live among the shadows and wait until their next victim conviniently walks past their alley. Be afraid, be very afraid!
