The Yishun Bus Interchange is located in northern Singapore, across Yishun Avenue 2 from Yishun MRT Station. This existing bus interchange will start its demolition on 14 March 2015 to make way for a new fully air conditioned bus interchange which is a double - decker friendly interchange. In the meantime, Yishun Bus Interchange will be relocated to a temporary site called Yishun Temporary Bus Interchange which will commence on 14 March 2015 (already confirmed by LTA). Height restrictions will be lifted and so, Yishun services which are heavily used (including 39) will be getting double - deckers once the temporary interchage has opened. The new interchange will be situated within a new shopping centre cum office and residential development, which is expected to be ready by 2019, called Northpoint City. A Farewell Yishun Bus Interchange Event will take place on Friday March 13th at night to commemorate their last revenue service to Yishun Bus Interchange before shifting to the temporary site.

History

The shops at Block 923 were closed and subsequently demolished in 2012 due to the development plans. Residents who were residing at Block 923 were transferred to a new residential area.

On 17 June 2013, the Housing & Development Board (HDB) released the land parcel where the interchange will be located and launched it for sale on 28 June 2013.[1]
