Raftaar (born Dilin Nair) is an Indian rapper, lyricist, singer and music producer. He came into limelight when he was signed into Three Records by RDB. Later, he started producing music for Bollywood. Raftaar can rap in different languages like Hindi , Punjabi , Haryanvi , Malayalam and English. He was also a part of Mafia Mundeer, formed by Yo Yo Honey Singh.

Early life

Raftaar started his career as a dancer . He did background dancing for Bollywood films. Later, he started his career as a singer and rapper. After recognizing his talent, the RDB signed him into Three Records. This was the turning point of his career. His songs started receiving views on YouTube . Raftaar said, that he is a big fan of BOHEMIA and has mentioned it in many of his songs .

Career

Raftaar was first introduced in the song We Doin It Big by the RDB. Later, he starred in the album Born Star by and has contributed in 3 songs - Majnu , Sugar and Bottle respectively . Raftaar released his solo album WTF - Witness The Future in 2013. Raftaar gained massive popularity between the youth when he released his song Swag Mera Desi ft . Manj Musik. He was widely appreciated for his fast rapping in the song. Also, the line - " Ab yeh karke dikhao ", which was already used in Yo Yo Honey Singh's song named Party With The Bhoothnath, became a centre of controversy between both rappers. Rumours were spread that the whole song was a dig at Yo Yo Honey Singh. Later, in an interview, Raftaar declared that the whole song was not targeted on Yo Yo Honey Singh, only one line was. Despite of the controversy, the song was a massive hit and crossed over 2 million views on YouTube . The song was also trending on YouTube India for 2 weeks. The song helped Raftaar's Facebook page cross over 1 million likers.

Television

Raftaar will appear in MTV Coke Studio Season 4 which will air on MTV .
