Your edit to Cocoon

Thanks for your edit to Cocoon. That page is a disambiguation page, a page meant to distinguish between Wikipedia articles with similar names. The entry you added did not point to an article about the musicians, so I have reverted it. If the group is notable, you can create an article about them and then add the entry back to the disambiguation page. You can read more about disambiguation pages at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages). --Auntof6 (talk) 18:45, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for explaining :) --Tiredtime (talk) 18:56, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

Heya, welcome to the disambiguation project! I noticed your comment on the Done list; don't worry about anything except articles (and templates); there's no need to edit talk page dab links - as a matter of fact, eventually some hothead will get angry at you for editing their comments. Good job too skipping the ones you were uncertain of; much, much better to leave 10-20 undone than to make guesses. Hope to see you in the future! --JaGatalk 10:14, 16 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

:) Ok, thanks for advices--Tired time (talk) 13:24, 17 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Film posters

Excellent work in uploading the posters! Lugnuts (talk) 18:50, 23 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

:) Thanks. And you are doing a good job with creating articles.--Tired time (talk) 14:24, 24 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
And thanks to you! re: needs-plot=yes - the parameter is no longer valid and can be removed. If it's added to a talkpage, it populates the hidden category "Film articles with deprecated parameters" (or wording like that). Same with the tag needs-cast=yes, which I found useful to populate articles. Oh well! Lugnuts (talk) 19:00, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No reason at all, I guess. At the moment it's not really a high priority, and I only clean them up when I see articles appear on my watch list. Feel free to remove any you find. Lugnuts (talk) 19:04, 28 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Poster

Hi Tired_Time! I changed the dvd cover to the film poster, as I feel for historical importance that it would be better to show off how the film poster as it better represents the film at the time of it's release. If you look at MOS:FILM#Image, you'll see that the rules generally state that a poster should be used over a DVD or VHS cover. Hope everything is cool. Andrzejbanas (talk) 18:00, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem! Thanks for asking! I started on wikipedia just uploading posters and adding infoboxes too. If you have any further questions do not hesitate to ask. keep up the great work! Andrzejbanas (talk) 18:37, 13 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for adding the poster images! I was wondering if you could ensure that the posters are at most 300 pixels at their width? I saw some 350px posters, and it could be a little smaller. Just use an image editing program like MS Paint. Most of the posters' sizes are appropriate, though. Keep up the good work. Erik (talk) 14:07, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I didn't know that posters have to be 300px at most. I suspect that no distributor has ever complained about movie poster in wikipedia being too big, so in my opinion it doesn't matter that much, but ok, I'll do that anyway :)--Tired time (talk) 19:00, 17 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It has more to do with Wikipedia protecting itself when it comes to having non-free content. They have WP:NFCC that says to strive for low-resolution images. 300 pixels is the standard for WikiProject Films (posters and screenshots); the dimension has the images be just a little larger than they would appear in the article. You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:52, 18 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

query

why did you ask to delete the file The Law (1959 film).jpg ? It's usable in the article about the film, and the fair use claim appears valid. Isee there'sanother image in the articleat the moment, but since it was released under both titles, both would seem appropriate. DGG ( talk ) 00:48, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yea, I uploaded the image currently used in the article shortly after uploading the one I am requesting to delete, because I realized that the poster I uploaded is a re-release poster, and original posters are preferred in Wikipedia. Many movies have many posters but it's standard to upload only one poster, if fair use is claimed. According to WP:NFCC "Multiple items of non-free content are not used if one item can convey equivalent significant information". Well, I think that's the case. Furthermore, in my opinion the second poster would seem redundant because there is very little text in the article.--tired time (talk) 01:00, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Lithuanian help needed

Hello Tired time, I'm contacting you because we need some Lithuanian translators to help with the deployment of the new VisualEditor on lt.wikipedia. There are help pages, user guides, and description pages that need translating, as well as the interface itself. The translating work is going on over on MediaWiki: Translation Central. I also need help with a personal message for the Lithuanian Wikipedians. If you are able to help in any way, either reply here, or head over to TranslationCentral. Thanks for your time, PEarley (WMF) (talk) 22:07, 5 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Yamudiki Mogudu

Hi Tired time. I saw your upload of the DVD cover to the article Yamudiki Mogudu. It is nice. Presently the film' release poster is available which i uploaded now. If you are not happy with it, revert it. If you are happy with it, retain it. Thank you.Pavanjandhyala (talk) 12:18, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Posters are generally preferred to covers, so I am happy with it, if the actual cover is black&white like your image. --tired time (talk) 17:54, 12 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Beginner Question

Hey TiredTime,

I am starting out new and am thinking of improving the wiki-pages for Indian Cinema (starting with Telugu movies). I have a few questions - Are there any tools that you used to upload the movie poster images or did you do them all manually?

Let me know.

Kvsrh (talk) 18:15, 14 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

I did it manually, but I had a system where it only took like 3 minutes to find and upload a poster, most of it spent in google or one of the movie poster websites. I had two templates (one for posters, one for DVD covers) that I would paste every time and then just add info into a couple of fields of the template. Can't imagine how it could be automated. Good luck :)
