Plot

Suresh (Varun Dhawan) wants to be a big dancer to fulfill his mother's wish. Vinnie (Shraddha Kapoor) wants to be the best hip-hop dancer. They are childhood friends. They form a team and participate in a national level competition where they are disqualified as their moves are copied and everyone calls them cheaters. Everyone departs to search for jobs. Suresh works in a bar as waiter, Vinnie joins a beauty parlour and Vernon works as a delivery boy where they are insulted as cheaters.

Suresh plans to remove the negative tag by winning the hip-hop competition in Las Vegas. One day he watches Vishnu (Prabhudeva) dance in the bar and convinces him to be their choreographer. They audition for people and collect the team. They participate in the qualifiers in Bangalore and win it. Later they go to Las Vegas, but it is revealed that Vishnu has ulterior motives to go to Vegas. In Las Vegas they win the qualifiers. Later Vishnu leaves the hotel with the money to meet his son. His son's mother is married to another man and has moved on in life. He talks to his child and leaves. He comes back later and they enter the final.

In the meantime, Vinnie gets injured and is replaced by Olive (Lauren Gottlieb). She becomes close with Suresh and a jealous Vinnie tells Suresh that she loves him. Although Olive has feelings, Suresh admits he has feelings for Vinnie too. Suresh refuses the love of Olive. The team enters the final, where Vinod's (Punit Pathak) health gets bad and the Indian Stunners make a mistake in the formation and fall down. They don't give up and come back and do the formation once again. Though, they don't win the competition, but they win the hearts of millions.

The decommissioned Indian Navy ship INS Vikrant was featured prominently in the first half of the film as a backdrop, behind the practice area of the dance troupe, while it was moored till a decision was made against its scrapping. [3]

Release

The film was released by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures on June 19, 2015.[4] However, the film's choreographer & director Remo D'Souza wanted to pre-release it on June 18, 2015 due to the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.[5][6] He stated, We just come to know that the Holy month of Ramadan starts on June 19, the day we have scheduled the release of ABCD2. I've been receiving so many emails and messages from my Muslim friends requesting not to release on that day, as they would be unable to go for the film.[7]

Soundtrack

Untitled

The soundtrack is composed entirely by Sachin-Jigar, while the lyrics were written by Mayur Puri. The audio album was released on 22 May 2015.[citation needed]
