Bevan French (born 4 January 1996) is an Australian professional rugby league player who currently plays for the Parramatta Eels in the National Rugby League. He plays Fullback
Early life
French grew up in Tingha, New South Wales. He played junior rugby league for the Tingha Tigers. At the age of 15, he began playing for Tingha's first grade team at fullback, playing against men twice his age.[citation needed]
Playing career
At the age of 16, he was pursued by at least 8 NRL clubs including Penrith, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.[citation needed] He eventually signed for the Parramatta Eels, stating that he felt at home at the club.[citation needed] In 2014 he made his National Youth Competition debut for the Eels. In 2015, he began the season at five-eighth, before moving back to fullback for the remainder of the year. He finished the season with 16 tries in 22 games.[citation needed]
French re-signed with the Eels, until the end of the 2018 season.
He participated in 2016 NRL Auckland Nines title win with Parramatta, and holds the record for most tries in a tournament with 8 tries. He was also named in the team of the tournament.
