ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!
Hello, XLinkBot. Voting in the 2016 Arbitration Committee elections is open from Monday, 00:00, 21 November through Sunday, 23:59, 4 December to all unblocked users who have registered an account before Wednesday, 00:00, 28 October 2016 and have made at least 150 mainspace edits before Sunday, 00:00, 1 November 2016.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)
Why is my source not good?
I recently got a message from XlinkBot saying that the source that I have placed in a draft for a page I'm writing, is not good.
"On specific or special releases, UTW would use alias, replacing their 'UTW' tag on releases. For example, releases of Gosick would be released under the alias 'Victorique', named after Gosick's female lead Victorique de Blois. The reason for UTW's 'Victorique' alias for their releases on Gosick is because the translations used in the releases were from Crunchyroll in 2011. Releases using Crunchyroll translations at that time wouldn't be considered as a full-fledged project. Another example of the use of alias comes to releases of the Madoka series. For UTW's release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica, the show was released under the 'Meguca' alias for the reference of a meme[1] that came from the /a/ board on 4chan."
In order for me to make my proof, case, and for people to look up for more information pertaining to the topic, I must include the citation as stated on top.— Preceding unsigned comment added by UniWiki (talk • contribs)
- @UniWiki: I have reverted the bot. Knowyourmeme is deemed rather unreliable here, not the best source. If there are no better sources, one might want to assess whether it should be mentioned. Note that we do not inline link to Wikia either, internal redlinks or no link should be used there. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:51, 7 December 2016 (UTC)

Help please - Band description completely wrong and all edits keep reverting back to wrong information
Hi, I am part of a band that has been active for around 7 years and the wikipedia page about our band contains some very misleading information and as such I created a user account here to update the page with correct information. The key issue for us is that the wikipedia page as well as being misleading is also being linked to pages that sell our music such as Google Music which means that people purchasing our music are also being misinformed about the band. To this end, the text that I have included in the updated page is taken from our website and is all based on original text that I have personally written for that page. I have referenced the official website for clarity but the page keeps being reverted back to the misleading article that was originally uploaded. Can you please help me correct this. I am the license holder of all the text and any images that are used on our website Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).www.ajammusic.com and I would like to make this available on wikipedia to ensure that the misleading article is no longer a point of reference for people that come across the wikipedia page that is meant to be about band Cite error: There are <ref>
tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ajam_(band)
Your assistance on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Ajammusic (talk) 22:12, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Amin (Ajammusic)
- (responding to ping) The bot reverted because of the inclusion of YouTube links. You can re-do the edit without the YouTube links, they are discouraged for various reasons. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:53, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
Picture Dua Lipa
Ok a few weeks i added Dua Lipa on the Births list.
I added a picture that was also on her own page here the page that she was written about her. Now that picture on the 1995 page is GONE. WHY?. Can't be cause of copyrights cause the other one is still there I did it in the same way others had and it looked fine so why did it get removed.

- @81.206.155.74: You'll have to take that up with the editor who deleted the picture, sorry. --Dirk Beetstra T C 08:55, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
I am very willing to do so but who is it and why can't I do it again now I did it perfectly the first time I tried it again and it looked rubbish I saw only a link — Preceding unsigned comment added by William Douglas (talk • contribs) 19:47, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
Link my blog on Wikipedia
Dear Sir, I want to link my blog The Coconut Oil Secrets to this Wikipedia page. Is this possible. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wallsportfolio (talk • contribs) 18:16, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Wallsportfolio: Possible, yes. Desirable, no. We are not writing a linkfarm, and the addition of a blog would only result in that. I think that most is explained by our external links guideline. I hope this explains. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:12, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
- Oh, now it is not possible anymore. I notice that you have created that page to make revenue, hence it is plain spam. It is now blacklisted. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:15, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
suggestion for extended links
I added an external link to my page Bismark Boachie(DJ premier) but u remove it anyway, thanks for the help but i will like you to help me out with the appropriate links for my page to go live. Andy1848 (talk) 19:16, 7 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Andy1848: I have been looking at the current state of the page, and at the links you added. I would like you to review our external links guideline. Many of these links are indeed inappropriate. --Dirk Beetstra T C 12:19, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
Breadth testing
How the context of the page Breadth Testing is less? It's just a start. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Farooqkhadim (talk • contribs) 01:40, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Farooqkhadim: Article need some minimal content as a start. If it is too unclear, they often get deleted quickly. Try starting it as a draft in your userspace, or in Wikipedia draft space (e.g. Draft:Breadth testing). I hope this helps. --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:24, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: My article on breadth testing have minimal content as a start but it's just deleted without any suggestion to improve that article. What gonna i have to do now except drafting?— Preceding unsigned comment added by Farooqkhadim (talk • contribs)
- @Farooqkhadim: Draft it until it is ready, and then you submit for review. The easiest way is to go here: Help:Userspace_draft and follow the instructions (use the box there to create your article). --Dirk Beetstra T C 03:48, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Beetstra: Thanks for your help!
Update photo on my OWN page.
Hi. I am Joseph Michael Linsner. I just want to update my photo. It's from 2007 and I never authorized it to be used for my Wikipedia page. When I try to upload a new one, it says it "can't be verified"
Thanks, JML — Preceding unsigned comment added by Joseph Michael Linsner (talk • contribs) 11:35, 12 December 2016 (UTC)
- Already discussed at length. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:42, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
SUEK
I have changed the reference you did not like for one relating to SUEK/s annual report. I hope this is satisfactory. This edit is an update to a biography that is seriously out of date and, therefore, factually incorrect. So I hope these changes meet your approval.Sedjeplace (talk) 17:17, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
- @Sedjeplace: I have further updated the page. Thanks. --Dirk Beetstra T C 17:42, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
links
Hi Bot. I believe the links I added comply with the guidelines because they are from Brave New Films' web page. If I am misunderstanding the guidelines could you please explain - or if there is a better way for me to link? It seems to make sense that there would be links to the films in the body of the article - is that incorrect? Thank you for all your work.
