FotoArtFestival - a biennial of world photography - the photographic event takes place in October in Bielsko-Biala in Poland and is organised since 2005 by the Foundation Centre of Photography.[1]


FotoArtFestival is one of the most important events in the field of photography in Poland.[2]

Details

During each festival there are organised several solo exhibitions of outstanding artists from around the world. Exhibitions last two weeks. The most important day is the Authors` Marathon (the first weekend of the festival), during which most of the authors of the exhibitions talk in person about their work and experiences in the field of photography. Events accompanying the festival are workshops and a collective exhibition - FotoOpen open to both professionals and amateurs.

The festival has hosted such famous photographers and their works: Eikoh Hosoe (Japan), Sarah Moon (France), Andreas H. Bitesnich (Austria), Jacob Aue Sobol (Denmark), Mario Giacomelli (Italy), Inge Morath (Austria) Erwin Olaf (Netherlands), Sara Saudek (Czech Republic), Franco Fontana (Italy), Joan Fontcuberta (Spain), Michael Kenna (United Kingdom), Luis González Palma (Gwatelmala), Walter Rosenblum (USA), Eberhard Grames (Germany) Stefan Bremer (Finland), Manuel Alvarez Bravo (Mexico), Yasumasa Morimura (Japan), Christer Strömholm (Sweden), Pedro Luis Raota (Argentina), Du Shao (China), Sandra Eleta (Panama), Cedric Gerbehaye (Belgium) Ragnar Axelsson (Iceland), Francesco Zizola (Italy), Michel Vanden Eckhoudt (Belgium), Joyce Tenneson (USA), Ruud van Empel (Netherlands), David Burdeney (Canada), Rafael Navarro (Spain), Franco Zecchin (Italy) Aaron Huey (USA) and many others.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]

General Director of the festival is Andrzej Baturo, artist photographer. Program director - Inez Baturo.
