Are We There Yet? is a 2005 comedy film, directed by Brian Levant. It was Columbia's second biggest movie of 2005. It grossed $82 million and sold 3.7 million DVDs. It featured a largely African American cast, and was mostly shot in Vancouver, Canada. It was a popular family movie suitable for children, with broad appeal and the feel of a live-action cartoon.
Plot
Nick Persons (played by Ice Cube), a bachelor who specializes in sports collectibles, finds himself attracted to the beautiful Suzanne Shaw (played by Nia Long), until he realizes she has two children (played by Aleisha Allen & Philip Daniel Bolden). Suzanne's children strongly believe that the only man suitable for her is their estranged father.
When Suzanne is stuck in Vancouver due to a business trip, she is left miserable and missing her kids. Furthermore, the children's dad who was supposed to be looking after them for the weekend has cancelled at the last minute saying that he was sick. This turned out to be a lie (Lindsey and Kevin passed his house later in the movie discovering he moved on with a new wife and a kid). This left them heartbroken because they really missed him so. Lindsey and Kevin do their best to make Nick's trip as nightmarish as possible. Seizing the opportunity to win Suzanne over (which he does at the end), Nick offers to transport them from Portland to Vancouver, despite the fact that he despises children.
The road trip seems to be a disaster from the outset, as Nick faces numerous mishaps in quick succession, which isn't going to be easy.
