This article is written in Canadian English, which has its own spelling conventions (colour, centre, travelled, realize, analyze) and some terms that are used in it may be different or absent from other varieties of English. According to the relevant style guide, this should not be changed without broad consensus. |
Size of NB's HIstory
I see that others have found issue with the wordiness of the article like I do. Encyclopedic is encyclopedic. I wish to do away with excess fat and certain redundancies as well. It is a fact that we share our history with NS and so we do not need to revisit the early colonial periods, nor it's precolonial inhabitants (they remain it's current residents, so are "they" not still responsible for Augustine mound?), necessarily.
Portrayal of first nations aside, and as was discussed here before (see archive), the succinct-ness of the article could really improve, with pleasant 'snapshots' that have their subjects develped in specific articles. An unfortunate part of tour New Brunswick Story is that we have not had to work together much n account of the unique directions the province took. And though that is a matter for another article, perhaps it can not be exemplefied so well here. --Placeographer77 (talk) 19:09, 25 July 2017 (UTC)

- Nope. Saint John has a massive lead of 989 people over Moncton. See 2011 census. Hwy43 (talk) 19:28, 9 March 2016 (UTC)
How the province got its name
In the introduction to the article it is stated that "The name was soon replaced with New Brunswick by King George II" but later in the article George III is mentioned. I assume George II is a mistake, but if someone could correct this, that would be great as I am not Canadian. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.174.169.133 (talk) 13:05, 19 March 2017 (UTC)
Coat of Arms
The image for the coat of arms is incorrect. What's shown is only the shield. The shield with a crown above and scroll below was used as a coat of arms from the 1960s, and a full coat of arms was granted in the 1980s.Z57N (talk) 19:32, 30 April 2016 (UTC)
Climate map
Hello, I just added a Koeppen climate map for New Brunswick. I was wondering if there were any Francophones here who might be able to help me translate the text in the map, so I can make a version for the French version of this article. I'm hoping to do the same with the Quebec map I just made - the terms should be identical, except for the title. Redtitan (talk) 05:42, 11 August 2016 (UTC)
- Nevermind my request - I was able to get some help for the Quebec map, and should be covered for making a translation for the New Brunswick Koppen climate map. Will be uploading a French version soon. Redtitan (talk) 05:56, 14 August 2016 (UTC)
Big cities? in NB???
There are no big cities; most big cities' populations exceed that of the province of NB. See http://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/cities-population-census-2016-1.3972062 A big city is around 70,000 in NB? The TOWN of Milton, Ontario has a population over 100,000 in the 2016 Census.
Most populous?? Yes, I suppose, but is there any value in including this sentence at all? I plan to delete it unless there is a strong feeling that the sentence is necessary.
Dieppe about 23,000 Miramichi about 18,000 Edmunston about 16,000 Peter K Burian (talk) 01:15, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
OK, someone deleted the reference to those tiny cities as being among the most populous. Thanks. Peter K Burian (talk) 14:40, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
Why use 2011 census data??
I had added 2016 census data (fully cited) and someone reverted it. Fortunately, Mikaelasa1 did an edit so it is again showing 2016.
Why would anyone want to cite 2011 data when the 2016 data is readily available? http://www.statcan.gc.ca/daily-quotidien/170208/dq170208a-eng.htm Peter K Burian (talk) 14:37, 9 February 2017 (UTC)
