Finding Paradise is a upcoming independent adventure video game developed and published by Freebird Games. It will be scheduled for released on Microsoft Windows in late 2017. [1] The Game is the sequel for To the Moon with it being the second episode and instalment of the Series. The story is continues on with the two doctors from the previous game who offers to fulfil a wish to the protagonist of A Bird Story Colin Reeds who was a boy but now a dying on man that is bedridden. The plot and story is similarly from the previous game which the two doctors use a machine to travel inside Colin memories to change and create artifical mesmerises in order to fulfil his last dying wish. [2] Like the previous game it features relatively few gameplay mechanics, with the player controlling the two doctors, exploring the narrative and solving puzzles as they try to reconstruct the dying man's memories. The game will be directed by Canadian game designer Kan Gao, using the RPG Maker XP engine with the development started in 2015. Finding Paradise would become the second game of To the Moon Series to be published by Freebird Games.

Gameplay

For the gameplay of Finding Paradise it is very similarly from the first game To the Moon which it is built on the RPG Maker XP engine, which is used to create 16-bit 2D role-playing games. Like the previous game it function like a typical RPG with inventory system or party system but it will not have a battle system because the game's focus is that being a more story-driven game and puzzle solving for Colin memories by interpreting information and experiencing his emotions and feelings like from the previous game with with Johnny's life, and finding ways to get deeper into his memories to find the truth of his wish.

The Gameplay remains unchanged from the last game as it is primarily about exploring Colin memories to find significant objects and collect energy from them to strengthen the memory and connect to a more distant one, from Colin's old age leading back to his childhood. Occasionally, the player will take a break from the machine for experiencing his memories and have the two doctors explore Colin's house and the surrounding area for certain clues.

Plot

Sigmund Corp. employees Dr. Eva Rosalene and Dr. Neil Watts are tasked with fulfilling the lifelong dream of the dying Colin Reeds. The doctors insert themselves into an interactive compilation of his memories and traverse backwards through his life via mementos to fulfil a wish that seems rather paradoxical to change something yet change nothing at all.

Development and release

Finding Paradise will be developed and published by Freebird Games by the independent Canadian game designer Kan Gao. It will be made using the RPG Maker XP engine, the development started in 2015 a year after Kan Gao finish developing A Bird Story in 2014 but the game was announced at January 12, 2016. [3] However the game was delayed and pushed to released at Summer 2017 because of many aspect on Kan personal life and that he found creating and developing Finding Paradise a lot more meticulous as he wanted to add more characters liveliness but adding more graphical details and animation as well as to explain the world in Finding Paradise. [4] Finding Paradise will be first available and released on major digital distribution sites like Steam and GOG.

Music

The soundtrack of Finding Paradise will be again composed by Kan Gao. The soundtrack will later be released on Bandcamp and will also be available on Steam as downloadable content. The soundtrack includes 41 tracks according to the Bandcamp page.[5]
