Roberto Lopez[1] is a Colombian-Canadian composer, musician and producer from Montreal, Quebec, whose style blends Afro-Colombian rhythms such as Cumbia, Porro, Mapalé, Chandé, Champeta, Currulao with urban styles such as Funk, Jazz, Rock and Afrobeat to create unique and original grooves. He won the Artiste révélation Radio-Canada Award (2010-2011), the FMMJ/Francofolies de Montréal Award (2006) and the ROSEQ/RIDEAU Award (2018). His albums have been nominated to the Juno Awards, ADISQ Awards, Canadian Folk Music Awards, GAMIQ (Quebec Indie Awards) and the Indie Acoustic Projects Awards.

Roberto has directed several projects over the years to present his compositions. Roberto Lopez Project, with two albums released: Que Pasa? (Curura Musique, 2006) and Soy Panamericano (Curura Musique, 2009). Roberto Lopez Afro-Colombian Jazz Orchestra with one album released: Azul (Curura Musique, 2012). And under his own name, Roberto Lopez with one album released: Criollo Electrik (Stonetree Records, 2017). This last album was produced by Belizian producer Ivan Duran.

Roberto has also composed for documentary films and has been nominated at the Prix Gemeaux for best original score. He was one of the composers of the music for the MLB Front Office Manager video game.
