The much popular song Erunottam Ithenthinu Veruthe[13] from the movie Chettayees (2012) was also penned by him. Composed by Deepak Dev, the song was a major hit with Actor Lal and Biju Menon singing it. He later teamed up again with director Sugeeth and music director Vidyasagar for another super hit film 3 Dots(2013) after Ordinary. The song Mele Meyum from the same was a chartbuster. The songs from the surprise hit of 2014, Vellimoonga (2014)[14] Starring Biju Menon, Aju Varghese and Nikki Galrani was also penned by him. He also wrote the lyrics for the Mohanlal starrer Peruchazhi (2014) which was also noted well. The movie was the first directorial debut of the writer Sachy.

As a Poet

'Writing' for him is a conscious slowing down—of traversing memories and going back to his roots. His poetry collection "Thimirakanthi" was published by D.C. Books, Kottayam was released on 5 November 2017[21]. Rajeev’s poems have an antiquated charm, there is a longing and despair, love and a sense of loss. They also speak of reality, he writes of the Nila (Bharathapuzha) thus: “Dear Nila, for how much longer will you seek the ocean, in a thousand parallel tributaries, holding hands....” His love for music and literature led him to write songs for devotional and love albums, even after he had found a job in an underwater engineering company in Mumbai. Rajeev identifies himself as a poet first. Having grown up in the company of books, writing came to him naturally. It was his grandmother who initiated him into the world of reading and writing.
