Geetha Govindam is an Indian Telugu romcom film directed by Parasuram, produced by Bunny Vas under the banner of GA2 Pictures. It stars Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles, while Subbaraju, Rahul Ramakrishna, Vennela Kishore, Naga Babu, and Mouryani appear in supporting roles. It was released on 15 August 2018 in India and on 14 August 2018 in the US. The film received highly positive reviews from critics and became a blockbuster at the box office.[6]
Plot
The movie opens in Annavaram with a flashback where Vijay Govind (Vijay Deverakonda) narrates his story to a passerby (Nithya Menen). Vijay Govind falls in love with Geetha (Rashmika Mandanna) and tries to woo her. In order to win her over, he fancies his chances and comes up with an idea that eventually falls flat.
Initially, Govind is seen as the bad guy in the eyes of Geetha and doesn't make a great impression. In the meantime, Geetha's brother Phaneendra (Subbaraju) gets engaged to Govind's sister making things more complicated for Govind. The rest of the story revolves around how he must prove his innocence and win Geetha's love.[7]
