M. of the Shore ("M. da Costa" in English, LOL!) - Reply

I think that preferably, one would write "Da Costa" at the start of a sentence and "da Costa" in mid-sentence. Don't know exactly if that's what you need, if so cool, always glad to help; if not, please elaborate so that i can come to the rescue.

About Messi Article Talk Page

Hi there, I'm sorry for my edit in the talk page, I was overwhelmingly happy and couldn't control myself, sorry again . TDLWH (talk) 20:26, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@TDLWH: No drama, just try not to make a habit of it Nzd (talk) 20:36, 26 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Sadegh moharrami

Most of the places you see, his height is 175 Hi, let me do it with a source. thank you Viera iran (talk) 20:01, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Viera iran: Please do. I reverted because you made an unsourced change, and a quick look on Soccerbase backed up the previous height. I understand that Soccerbase isn't always reliable when it comes to height, so if you are able to provide a more reliable source that verifies his height, please add this inline. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 20:33, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Monthly payment formula

Dear Nzd,

You removed my editing in Mortgage_calculator and marked it as spam. I am not a spammer. It was my first post in Wikipedia. I am sorry for violating Wikipedia rule I haven't known before.

I created a talk page as you suggested. Thanks ! Regards, YW0K5o (talk) 00:33, 9 July 2018 (UTC) YW0K5o[reply]

@YW0K5o: Hi, welcome to Wikipedia I have striken the warning from your talk page. On second look, I probably would have reverted it as unencyclopedic, but I see now that it wasn't spam, so I apologise for that.
You appear to have added the talk comment to User talk:66.133.201.94, rather than the article talk page. You might want to copy that over. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 01:28, 9 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Griezmann picture

Dear Nzd, You reverted a change I made regarding Griezmann's dive in the world cup final. I disagree with your interpretation that I am not neutral. If it makes you happier, you can change the caption to 'controversial situation that led to the first goal' or something like that. However replacing the picture with a meaningless picture of a football player on a pitch is hardly neutral. The situation is already mentioned in the text so it is meaningful to add a picture so that readers can make up their minds for themselves. If I read a text, I can hardly tell what happened, if I see a picture, I have a much better idea. By the way when France plays Croatia I am not supporting either team in particular. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Derfugu (talkcontribs) 10:23, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Derfugu: I'm pretty sure you can't use screenshots like that, especially on Commons. I've raised this at Commons:Village pump/Copyright for clarification. Discussion about article content, especially something controversial like that, should take place on the article talk page so other editors can take part. I suspect the image will be deleted though. Thanks, Nzd (talk) 11:28, 18 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Nzd, just bringing this edit to your attention, in relation to a warning left on the IPs talk page. Not sure if you're able to block the IP, or if it can be requested. Thanks :) Exxy (talk) 17:47, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks @Exxy. @Mattythewhite: latest height vandal IP. Could you block if you think necessary? Cheers, Nzd (talk) 18:39, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

And I know that the medical becomes just a formality after an agreement has been announced. The transfer is 99% done.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 09:24, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't add a reference because I was editing on my mobile phone. Do you want to do it now? I will.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 09:45, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I added all the info on his page, including the failed move with references. You are right, it would have been wrong to change his club to Roma when they announced it but this time his Barca move is all official. :) Cheers!8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 10:17, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I heard in my coutry's media too that he would wear the number 7, but I don't think it's official so I'll remove it.8Dodo8 (talk · contribs) 10:40, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Santiago Cazorla Gonzalez

Hey! I'm pretty sure that Santi Cazorla has officially signed with Villarreal for pre-season.

Anyway, for the other updates, I was corrected grammar and spelling mistakes. HiZo123 (talk) 19:26, 25 July 2018 (UTC) 25.7.18[reply]

@HiZo123: The sources say otherwise. Also, your "corrections" were to refactor the title of a reference and break the formatting of the infobox. Nzd (talk) 19:30, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nzd: Okay. Sorry for disturbing you. HiZo123 (talk) 19:33, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Quick question

When it comes to appearances on a footballer's wiki, does pre-season matches count? (speaking about Matteo Guendowzi and his first app; not official) HiZo123 (talk) 19:39, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@HiZo123: No, infobox stats are for the domestic league only (so Premier League, La Liga, etc.). Some articles will have a more detailed career statistics table at the bottom, which would include competitive cup competitions.
Generally, pre-season friendlies would not be considered notable enough for inclusion at all, but given Cazorla's well-documented troubles, this is mentioned in the prose of that article. Nzd (talk) 19:47, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
@Nzd: Thanks! Anyway, I was talking about Mattéo Guendowzi. HiZo123 (talk) 19:55, 25 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

West Ham squad numbers

My source for the squad numbers that I added was the pre-season matches played in the past couple of weeks, where the players wore the numbers as described. The most recent match was vs Ipswich, earlier today. Dalek194 (talk) 16:31, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dalek194: None of those numbers are official though, which is why the squad list on the OS doesn't have them (yet). Of the new signings, only Wilshere's number has been announced so far. Nzd (talk) 17:11, 28 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

i am a mauritian firstly and my famille know some of the dhorasoos family. here is a link of this https://www.lexpress.mu/article/vikash-dhorasoo-%C2%AB-je-suis-mauricien-donc-je-suis-la-disposition-des-mauriciens-%C2%BB as well as this mauritius' indo mauritian population all have come as indentured labourers from india in the 1800s to replace african slaves and work on the sugar plantations. he is hindu. he has no direct family in india either.

many thanks. i do not know where the iran bit came from as well. i have not heard of this in the mauritian archives — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.138.63 (talkcontribs) 16:29, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

to nzd

Please can you clean my edit on vikash dhorasoo up. I am new to this editing so sorry if the layout is not great. Make sure to keep the indenture labourers bit and the eligibility in. As well as this vikash dhorasoo does not count as a french Indian as his last actual Indian direct forefather would have been around over 150 years ago. But im pretty sure that his forefathers are from telegu area andhra pradesh. The iran migration thing is not correct to my knowledge

many thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.154.138.63 (talkcontribs) 16:46, 3 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Transfers etc,

It clear says that West Ham had completed the signing and the player has left Arsenal. That's why I edited it. --Skyblueshaun (talk) 09:11, 9 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Sampson

Hi NZD, how come my update for Jack Sampson (Southport footballer) was removed? It was factual, was it not? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keirmcc7 (talkcontribs) 10:12, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Keirmcc7: No, what you wrote was editorialising and your opinion. If you can stick to verifiable facts and reference them, you are welcome to have another go. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Thanks, Nzd (talk) 10:44, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Brazilian player listings - Reply

Hello there,

well, the only thing i know of is WWW.SAMBAFOOT.COM (here http://www.sambafoot.com/en/), more or less decent but: 1 - i do not know if it contains any stats; 2 - it seems to contain the odd error even for Brazilian chaps.

I'll ask veteran Brazilian user MYS77 to weigh in, most likely he'll fare better than I (P.S. for your info, i don't think you will be able to use OGOL.COM as more than an (harmless) external link, it's the Brazilian version of WWW.ZEROZERO.PT, user-generated website)!

Cheers, hopefully i was of help (and certainly MYS will be) --Quite A Character (talk) 19:06, 16 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Quite A Character:, @Nzd:, to be very honest, none of those websites (Sambafoot and Ogol) are very reliable... although the last one seems to be correct more often than the first one. I added some content to the page, I'm still trying to find some more information regarding his spell from 1993 to 1997... I will fix those terrible refs later, right now I'm busy work-wise. Paul Munster

Hey, I made the changes because i am sure of those as I am his representative (read agent) in India. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aritra.roy (talkcontribs) 10:51, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Aritra.roy: Hi, Please read WP:V, which says that all content must be be verifiable in reliable sources. The source (which you removed with your revert) makes no mention of senior team coach, so you will need to find an appropriate source that mentions this. You should also read WP:COI as you have a relationship with the subject. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). Your help

Thank you very much. I didn't have it right, because I had only 'edit source' and not 'edit'. So I didn't find the box labelled 'Summary'. Trying it, I made a correction in the entry 'Diemerci Mbokani' without this summary. Then, looking further, and adjusting my preferences so 'edit' appears alongside 'edit source', I hope I got it right this time with two corrections in the entry 'Arjen Robben'. I hope that I understood your directions well, and I thank you for your kind help! Stefan Verdorie (talk) 16:27, 26 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Stefan Verdorie: No problem at all, happy to help. Looking at your contributions, it looks like you've sussed it. Thanks for doing this much needed work, and don't hesitate to ask if you need anything else Nzd (talk) 09:59, 27 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Exchange 106

I have updated the sources for your article, The Exchange 106, with references from both local and foreign newspaper as well as business magazines. The building will stand at 492m both architecturally and height to the tip and not 446m as stated CTBUH as the information is incorrect. At 446m, The Exchange 106 will only be the 2nd tallest building in Malaysia as the current tallest buildings, The Petronas Twin Towers, stands at 451.9m. I can assure you that The Exchange 106 will stand at 492m in height as I am a Malaysian citizen and we all are excited about this new building. Thus, I m humbly requesting you not to revert my changes. If your have any further questions on The Exchange 106 or any other Malaysian topics, feel free me to contact me. Thank you — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dhamo95 (talkcontribs) 06:37, 6 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Dhamo95: It's not my article (nobody owns any article on Wikipedia), I was simply ensuring that the data matched that of the inline citation. Thanks for sorting that out, I suspect that might be too many references, but I'll leave that for others to decide. I've just given it the once over with reFill to fix the bare and duplicate references. Please remember to sign your posts on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~). About reverting my edit on Petr Ćech's page

Not much my friend. Don't take it as an offensive message . But i really can't understand why you reverted it . And even someone(maybe you) sent me a message that i didn't cite a reliable source for my added content . Well, i cited Wikipedia itself. So it was really nice to know that Wikipedia isn't a reliable source according to wikipedians these days. Thanks though and have a nice day! Yours friend Chandra Shekher Mishra Chandra Shekher Mishra (talk) 18:14, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Chandra Shekher Mishra: It wasn't me that left the message on your talk page, but I reverted for the same reason. You cannot use Wikipedia itself as a source. Because Wikipedia is user-generated, it is not considered a reliable source for citation purposes. Instead, you should check the Wikipedia article that contains the material and reuse those citations that support the statements you need to reference.
For example, if I wanted to reference the statement that Wayne Rooney joined D.C. United in June 2018, I couldn't simply reference Rooney's Wikipedia article, but I could go to that article, verify that the statement is indeed referenced, and reuse the citation used by that article.
I hope that makes sense. Feel free to come back to me if it doesn't! Nzd (talk) 19:11, 13 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

About reverting my edit in 'Style of play' section in Petr Cech's page

I can't understand why you are saying this brother. The article contains Mr.Arsene Wenger's comment on petr cech, which itself says that cech is one of the greatest of all time. What else is needed when a Legendary person like him claimed the fact. I even have lehmann's same comment. You love west ham means you watch pl and if you watch pl you yourself should know that petr cech has been immensely great throughout his career. Anyway, i won't re-do my edit cuz im a scholar and i hardly get time. Thanks again and have a really nice day. Yours Friend Chandra Shekher Mishra
