B&W or colour?

I have three Big Little Books I acquired in the late 1960s/early 1970s, and all feature colour pictures:

Journey to the Center of the Earth (Realm of the Reergs)
Beep Beep the Road Runner (the super road-runner catcher, unwittingly financed by the US government)
Mickey Mouse (space cities, kidnapped scientists & "Black" Pete)

My brother had one and it, too, had colour pictures (I don't know if he still has it).

Batman (criminal named "The Cheetah")
