Vamsi Paidipally (known as Vamsi) (Telugu: వంశీ) (born 27 July 1979) is a Tollywood film director who is known for directing the films Brindavanam (2010),[1] Yevadu (2014) & Oopiri (2016).[2] He won Filmfare Award for Best Director - Telugu for the film Oopiri.
Early life
Vamsi Paidipally was born in Nirmal, Telangana, India. Since his childhood he has been fascinated by films. His father had a theatre in his district so he grew up in the atmosphere of theatre. He did his schooling in Hyderabad Public School, and his intermediate from Little Flower Junior College. He then completed Bachelor's degree in commerce and Master's in Computer Applications (MCA) from Badruka College. He worked as a software engineer for sometime.
Career
He quit his software job and got into films as an assistant director for the film Eeswar in 2002 and worked as an associate director for Varsham, Mass and Bhadra .
He had his debut as a director with Munna in 2007 and went on to direct Brindavanam in 2010, Yevadu in 2013 and the blockbuster film Oopiri in 2016.Currently he is working with Mahesh Babu on Maharshi which is scheduled for release on April 5 2019.
Personal life
Vamsi is married to Malini and has a daughter.
