Climate emergency

Climate emergency describes an official acknowledgment that global warming is considered an emergency situation, usually with the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through climate actions.[1]

Declarations

In June 2019, at a meeting with oil executives, Pope Francis made a pledge for a climate emergency.[2]

The following countries made a climate emergency declaration, Scotland[3], Welsh[4], Ireland[5], UK[6], Canada[7].
