Climate emergency

Climate emergency describes an official acknowledgment that global warming is considered an emergency situation, usually with the aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through climate actions.[1]

In June 2019, at a meeting with oil executives, Pope Francis made a pledge for a climate emergency.[2]
