Hello Javieralexvr. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Javieralexvr. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Javieralexvr|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Template:Z159 SmartSE (talk) 18:41, 13 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I understand that I have violated wikipedia's terms of use and policy for undisclosed payments and paid editor. I am undisclosing payments to address this issue and I do hope to keep editing Wikipedia. I also know that article must be encyclopedic and backed by reliable sources as always, before I accept any request for an article I do my research and make sure clients have enough notability https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability. I am try to give them the space they deserve in the Wiki while keeping the article unpartial and encyclopedic. I've read and understant COI:

Plastiq - Zach Avery - Gabrielle Ryan - Mark Kendall (filmmaker) -

TonyBallioni (talk) please consider that I am a Venezuelan, living in dictatorship trying to escape poverty and hunger. Trying to help my mother and family keep going, working to improve our quality of life. I have 24 years old, study mechanical engineering and in need of a job that isnt slavery. Wikipedia gave me the possibility of doing all these, I am trying to comply with all Wikipedia rules and I have been learning and reading a lot, this job means the world to me and declining my access to Wikipedia is truly making my life worse and worse Javieralexvr (talk) 00:45, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I’ve unblocked you per below. I also have similar views on promotion as MER-C, so please be careful about the content you create. TonyBallioni (talk) 14:36, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hey I cannot answer your questions if you block me before I even explain. SmartSE MER-C. About this, I did not write that by myself. I just read this paper and transcribed what I thought It was important, that was my first article and I did not know then how to use wikitext properly stevey reviewed then and the article did not pass article for creation process. I was clearly learning how to use wikitext, why would I get something in return. And I started with cancerlinq because I thought they deserved to be in wikipedia since they are using big data to treat cancer patients which is pretty great. Javieralexvr (talk) 17:37, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
OK, SmartSE MER-C I amd telling the truth now. I did get paid for Zach Avery, Mark kendall, Plastiq, and Gabrielle Ryan (not for Cancerlinq). But I do not know who my employer is and I was paid with Bitcoin. No way for me to know, do not blame me please I am just a Venezuelan student trying to make a living in this shit country. I am trying to get the info to disclose but I do not have it yet. Would you pardon me? I am sorry for trying to hide the truth, I thought it was easier and I don't want to let my employer down because I need money.
Anyways, I made those article keeping them encyclopedic as possible with the press I could find, I really believe they don't look like advertising. What do you want me to do to move those articles back to public? and maybe unblock me? truly sorry guys.Javieralexvr (talk) 18:32, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
You've not made this easy for us. As MER-C said ... yikes. These are not easy blocks to make. Given the opportunity to disclose you denied you were paid, even going as far as to state This editor does not accept paid editing work. If somebody claims that he/she is me and is soliciting paid editing work, then they are impersonating me, and likely scamming you. Only when you were blocked and the articles semi-deleted did you stop and rethink. I sympathise greatly with your situation, but that does not give you the right to abuse Wikipedia for your personal advantage. I am undecided on how to proceed. SmartSE (talk) 19:26, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Likewise, I am very sympathetic to your situation - I usually block suspected undisclosed paid editors on sight (search my block log for covert advertising) but held off for you to make the required disclosures. I suggest appealing the block. As someone who occasionally reviews block appeals, you will need to address the dishonesty, make disclosures that comply with the paid editing policy, understand that your edits were promotional and demonstrate that you are familiar with the conflict of interest guideline. Any appeal that does not satisfactorily address all four points will be (regrettably) denied. Wikipedia:Guide to appealing blocks contains some helpful advice. MER-C 20:45, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I will do my appeal this weekMER-C. First time having issues with admins, had to learn the hard way. Javieralexvr (talk) 21:55, 17 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
In addition to the above, can you please explain your relation with Josher8a? Your editing is obviously coordinated and if you are working together you should also make this clear. Further, as I've explained on their talk page, their "I'm paid in bitcoin and therefore don't have a COI" argument is ridiculous and will lead to them being blocked if they continue, so please discuss this with them. SmartSE (talk) 15:41, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
SmartSE (talk, he is a friend of mine from my university, he has been a wikipedian for over ten years and was helping me with Wikitext & Wikipedia in general. I'll talk to him Javieralexvr (talk) 18:56, 21 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

it wasnt me SmartSE (talk)...I am waiting on the unblock request.Javieralexvr (talk) 00:26, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Smartse I doubt that is Javier's account based on CU. It is using proxies and has the same very common device, so I guess it is possible but this account has never used proxies that I can tell and it's been active enough that the odds of the person operating it not messing up and editing on the same range on accident are pretty low. I suspect it's a different freelancer that Javier doesn't know.

Okay, Javier, normally an admin doesn't review something twice, but I'm not going to deny it and I'm actually sympathetic because CheckUser tells me you've been telling the truth about your connection to some other accounts,: I'll consider lifting this block on the condition that you only put paid articles as drafts and wait for someone else to review. Note if there is a whiff of promotion in them, you'll be blocked in a heart beat. MER-C, would you be fine with those conditions? TonyBallioni (talk) 01:37, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Blocked the socks. I believe that merely existing = promotional, but I'll look the other way once (i.e. no objections to unblocking). Most startups and the like want you to use Wikipedia for promotional purposes, so you should be more discerning on who you take on as clients. MER-C 12:17, 7 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for disclosing your paid editing status. As per WP:Paid, please provide links on your Wikipedia user page to all active accounts at websites where you advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services e.g. your Upwork account etc. Thank you. GSS (talk|c|em) 04:29, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

No problem GSS (talk|c|em) but I am not currently advertising on any site. The first time I got the job reading a post on Reddit, after messaging the employer he gave me my first task (to make a draft on zach avery) which I did and he liked it. Now we just talk in private and discuss new clients. Not sure how he gets the clients though Javieralexvr (talk) 04:40, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Can you please provide a link to that Raddit thread? GSS (talk|c|em) 04:46, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
did not know that Gabrielle had her article deleted before but I will try to improve her article and do a AfC submission again, I think her career is growing. the reddit thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/slavelabour/comments/b0qtyl/task_need_a_wikipedia_page_written_in_the_next/Javieralexvr (talk) 04:55, 8 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
