User talk:PackMecEng
April 2019
You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Black Hebrew Israelites; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.
Points to note:
- Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
- Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.
If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:17, 26 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Malik Shabazz: HA! So let me get this straight, you edit war against multiple editors for months, against consensus mind you, then template me for implementing consensus? Wow... PackMecEng (talk)
Undo revision on tumblr article
@PackMecEng Thank you for your undo revision. I verified the citation incorrectly. A plugin was blocking the loading mechanism of the Washington Post website. When I went to search the website (via Ctrl-F browser search) it came up blank on my searches, meanwhile I was unaware the website had not correctly loaded. Thanks to your detailed comment, I have fixed the browser error and will be more careful in the future. Atchison clark (talk) 19:25, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
- @Atchison clark: No biggy, happens all the time and you were correct about the other source. Have a good one. PackMecEng (talk) 19:28, 28 April 2019 (UTC)
Your assistance, please?
Hi, PME - Jeongan doesn't have any citations, and I've hit a brick wall trying to find any using Google. I'm thinking there may be some history books out there in a different language (possibly Chinese) and was wondering, if you get a chance, will you see what you can find?
- Sure I will take a look when I get a chance! PackMecEng (talk) 12:34, 9 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Atsme: So I found a few sources but I would need to actually head out to the library and grab them. Hopefully I can do that soon, there were also a few on the Korean language wiki.[1] But they be kind of hard to verify here, perhaps I can give my parents a call and see if they can find them there. PackMecEng (talk) 02:49, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- What about Wikipedia:WikiProject Resource Exchange/Resource Request?? It was not my intention to inconvenience you to such great lengths so please don't go out of your way. Perhaps we can find someone on WP at a university or library who would have access to the needed books? Maybe Megalibrarygirl can recommend something? Atsme Talk 📧 09:21, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Atsme: I'll take a look. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 20:41, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- @Atsme: so far, no dice. Maybe Gamaliel will have better luck. He's at a university library. :) Megalibrarygirl (talk) 23:26, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- Thank you, MLG - I just don't want to create an inconvenience for anyone. Hopefully, G can find something. PME - do you have the names of the books he can look up? Atsme Talk 📧 23:52, 10 May 2019 (UTC)
- So there were a few. Atlas of Korean History page 72, 발해의 역사와 문화 "Bohai history and culture" by the Northeast Asian History Foundation page 121, and 인문학논총 "the Journal of Humanities" Volume 13 number 2 by the Kyungsung University Institute of Humanities Research page 195-213. I think there is a good chance to find the first one here, the others might be interesting. PackMecEng (talk) 13:54, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
- Are there ISBNs or years of publication or something else I can work with? These titles are pretty vague. Are these in English or Korean? We don't have any Korean language materials at my school, but I do go to the Library of Congress semi-regularly so I might be able to find something there if you don't mind waiting a few weeks/months. Gamaliel (talk) 20:21, 11 May 2019 (UTC)
- Hey G - thanks for your offer to help. What it all boils down to is the need to verify Jeongan. Right now that article doesn't have any sources cited. Atsme Talk 📧 20:35, 11 May 2019 (UTC)

Would be worth a read. nableezy - 18:17, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Nableezy: That was not grave dancing. Perhaps you should read the essay (ie not policy) you link. PackMecEng (talk) 18:25, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes, being annoying on the page of somebody who you instigated to have blocked after they are blocked isnt anything like that. Silly me. nableezy - 18:57, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Nableezy: See what I mean? You should really check out the essay you linked. It is pretty self-evident why what I said was not grave dancing. Also on a personal note, I would strongly suggest not trying to enable such abhorrent behavior on a collaborative project like Wikipedia. PackMecEng (talk) 19:02, 1 June 2019 (UTC)
- I don't know if it was gravedancing, but leaving that comment there was pretty douchey. I really wish you hadn't. Drmies (talk) 00:40, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Drmies: Not really. Just not a fan of shrines to people with civility issues. Swarm hit the nail on the head with that. Also it is shameful what his enablers are doing and I hope you reflect on that. PackMecEng (talk) 00:53, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- Yes it was douchey. One's own talk page is not a shrine, but that "pound of flesh" comment was pretty accurate. And that patronizing tone is very unbecoming. Please don't ping me anymore unless you need me in an administrative capacity. Drmies (talk) 01:03, 3 June 2019 (UTC)
- No it was not, especially for an on going matter. Know what IS unbecoming? Defending such behavior with a serial abuser. I wish you would come to your senses there. It is completely unacceptable and you know it. I do have hope for you to improve though. Have a good night. PackMecEng (talk) 01:13, 3 June 2019 (UTC)

Thanks for fixing my edit conflict
Got an edit conflict of an edit conflict and I guess my attempt to reload and repaste my comment back messed things up. I probably took too long rereading the various related pages as I commented. Thanks for fixing things back up. PaleAqua (talk) 02:43, 26 June 2019 (UTC)

re-litigation of a discussion, that was already resolved the community, a month ago. Consensus can change but not so soon. ∯WBGconverse 15:10, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
- @Winged Blades of Godric: Judging by the conversation on the notice board it was making progress. Also closing by someone involved in the dispute is bad form as you are very well aware of. Let it play out naturally and see where it leads. PackMecEng (talk) 15:14, 27 June 2019 (UTC)
Enforcement
Dear PackMecEng (talk) I am the subject of an enforcement proceeding based on my edits to the Ocasio-Cortez article, specifically about my insertions of statements that Rev. Rodriguez observed different conditions at the detention facilities than observed by AOC, and in particular my edits including a statement that Democrat Socialists of America have a long-term goal of the elimination of capitalism. Snooganssnoogans has accused me of unsubstantiated smears and falsehoods regarding these edits, which is absurd, as the edits were true and substantiated. But he is pushing for me to be banned from editing the AOC article. If you could write something on my behalf in the enforcement page, about the fact that what I inserted was true and substantiated, like what you stated in the AOC article talk page, I would really appreciate it.
