Patiala Babes is an Indian drama television series starring Paridhi Sharma, Ashnoor Kaur, and Aniruddh Dave. This series is created by Katha Kottage and produced by Rajita Sharma and Vivek Budakoti. Patiala Babes is dubbed in Tamil version as Pavithra on Polimer TV.[1] It premiered on 27 November 2018 on Sony TV.[2][3] Set in the city of Patiala, Punjab, the show revolves around the bond shared between a single mother and her daughter.[4][2]

Plot

Babita (Paridhi Sharma), a simple and down to earth woman who has a hard time overcoming self-doubt informed by years of being in an oppressive marriage and her fearless daughter, Mini (Ashnoor Kaur), who doesn't hesitate to beat up lecherous men in her neighborhood, a young girl she encourages her traditional mother to realize her worth and fulfill her dreams. The story line also shows how Babita learns to live her life on her own terms with her daughter when her egotist husband, Ashok Khurana (Bhanujeet Sudan), cheats her for being with his business partner, Meeta Basu (Hunar Hali), a nice and self-sufficient woman.[4][5][6] After she herself becomes self-sufficient working woman with her own business, Patiala Babes Catering Services, Babita helps Meeta as well. Meeta is pregnant with Ashok's child, but realizing Ashok doesn't have the same happiness she does, she begins to question him and they have many fights. Even through her past and her pain, Babita stands up for Meeta and helps her go away from Ashok.

Soon enough, Babita's landlord, Hanuman Singh (Aniruddh Dave) and affectionately called Hanuman Uncle by Mini, realizes his love for Babita but is bound by his own pains and his own past as he was previously married to a woman, Imarti (Roshni Sahota), whom he loved dearly. Mini finds out about this and acts livid towards Hanuman, hurting him and Babita, who has feelings for Hanuman as well. After many of Mini's try to convince her to give him a chance, Mini decides to inspect on her own whether her mother has any similar feelings as well. Hard work pays off and Mini decides that her Babes also feels the same way for her Hanuman Uncle and tries to unite them with help from Naeem Bi (Sandhya Shungloo), Hanuman's mother figure and neighbor.

Just when Hanuman is finally going to propose to Babita, he gets a letter that notifies him that his deceased wife's father, Sardar Singh Chautala has filed a case against him for unintentionally murdering Imarti. Babita clears the confusion by deciphering the true meaning of Imarti's last letter to her father and clears the bad blood between Hanuman and Sardar Singh. Finally, Babita realizing that Mini is upset with Babita wish to move out and make space between her and Hanuman, indirectly proposes to him. She tells him cleverly by putting up a picture of her and Mini next to that of Hanuman and Imarti. Hanuman says that she should move it closer and she did not measure it correctly. Babita says, that there will be another picture with a larger frame, I have measured correctly. Getting the hint, Hanuman goes upstairs to wake Mini and tells him that there is no need for tenant in his house. Mini looks hurt, but instead he says, I need a landlady. Babita agrees to be the landlady.
